| How old are they? If they are still really young I would go to the pet store and buy small cans of all different kinds of wet foods, put them all out, and see which one they like. If they are older and their teeth are all the way in to where they can eat dry food, you can try putting yogurt or cottage cheese or boiled chicken on their hard food. You may also want to change their hard food since they don't seem interested in it anymore. My picky eater Hobbs absolutely LOVES Chicken SOup for the Puppy Lovers Soul. To make sure their blood sugar doesn't drop, you need to give them NutriCal every hour or 2 and also give them some Pedialyte. If they won't take either voluntarily, then you will have to give it to them in a syringe. |

| Picky eaters can drive you nuts I know I have a couple of them. I have switched foods before because they just would not eat. Now they will both eat Royal Canin and Lil Caesar only. You can try switching the food and see if that helps. Another thing I do to get mine to eat is to mix some cottage cheese or a scrambled egg in their food. I do that now just to give them some variety for a change.

| I have found this handy little trick works for my crew when they are just being onery and are not sick -- maybe it will work for yours.... I give them a little tad of Nutrical. The energy burst almost always sends them looking for some chow to munch down on. Hope it works for you. |

| Food When Annie was young she wouldn't eat very well either. Also, different foods seemed to upset her stomach. We put her on EN canned food by Purina. It is very bland and most dogs love it. You can only get it at the vets. She ate mostly that for about 2 months and loved it. I now mix a little of that with the Royal Canin Yorkie food and an organic food called Timberwolf. Both Cooper and Annie gobble their food in about 1 minute...if that long. I think Cooper only gobbles his so Annie doesn't get it. Annie is a small dog and very healthy so eating the EN for a short time while she was growing didn't hurt her at all. Everyone does something different but that is what worked for me and is still working. My dogs don't get any table foods and the treats they get are actually food that is very good for their teeth. It is Hills TD's, also bought at the vets. When I ask them if they want a cookie, they come running and they each get a TD cut in half because they are small dogs and have a hard time biting the whole thing. Occasionally I give them a small piece of raw carrot. They like that also. My dad thinks I'm mean because I won't give them table scraps but I think what I do is what makes them good eaters. He was always having to hand feed his little shih-tzu because he catered to her so much. I don't have time for that. Hope that helps a little! Jank |

| If they won't do the Nutrical, please try Pedialyte. If they won't just voluntarily drink it, use the syringe. Only about 1/2 a syringe is enough. One quick squirt and it is done. I don't know that Nutrical would work with a syringe because of the thickness.

| Shylah picky eater too. Shylah has been a picky eater since we got her. She turns her nose up to the Royal Canine and got sick of Little Ceasers. She would always eat Starsky's adult food or Haggis's adult low fat food. I finally found a dry puppy food like Starsky's and I had cottage cheese to it and she downs it quick plus goes for the other dogs food. Now she is a little piggy! I think her puppy belly is as round as she is long. She had lost some weight when I first got her, but it looks like she will be gaining it back quickly. I am wondering if some dogs just need variety

| my Bo is a very picky eater...he eats iams smart puppy and the ONLY way he will eat that is if i put the iams sauce on it and hand feed him....he will not eat out of any dog plate....he is very spoiled so i guess that part of it lol....this week he hasnt been eating good at all and i was getting very worried and come to find out he is shedding his teeth i found one in the floor tonight and i check the others and they are getting loose so i know thats why he cant eat his dry food...so i will be getting him some boiled chicken tomorrow so it is easier for him to eat....he is just like a baby to me so i guess i cater to him way to much but i wouldnt have it anyother way lol. |
