| How much do puppies sleep? Got my girl yesterday, she's been eating and drinking fine. I've been putting some honey on her food and in her water, gave her a little canned food as well. All in all, doing good there. Last night we put her in her crate and she was up almost all night, I felt so bad. She was ery playful yesterday and this morning, but now she is getting very worn out and keeps going into her crate and sleeping. She's been sleeping for about 1.5 hrs now. Is this ok since she was up almost all night? I think I'm being a bit paranoid, but some reassurance would be nice. Or some advice...? |

| Just passin' on what I heard from my mother in law. She has had 4 pups and was a groomer for 15 yrs if that means anything. Anyway, she said that they sleep about 20 hours out of the day as puppies when they are really young. That's all I got for ya! Hope someone else has more for you.

| Bailey is 15 1/2 weeks and she still sleeps a lot. Especially if we get a LOT of exercise. With or without a lot of exercise, though, she still seems to sleep close to 18 hours a day. |

| Puppies sleep a lot. As for her crying all night. Ollie did that off and on every night for a week. then I took the door off her kennel and blocked off the laundry area, and after that she did fine. She just did not like being penned in the crate. |

| Like our own babies, puppies sleep a lot. Someone tried to find out more about how long dogs sleep and came up with this...... Under controlled laboratory conditions both cats and dogs sleep about 13 hours per day but they wake up more frequently than people do. PLUS --- --- Large dogs sleep more than small dogs --- House dogs sleep more than outdoor dogs --- And - puppies sleep most of all... Hope this helps - I'm sure you have nothing to worry about... Let your little girl sleep all she wants when she wants to....... My dogs always sleep well at night, but they do wake up often - I'm sure they just smell something or hear something that I don't.
