| New Kid on the Block Everyone, I cannot thank all of you enough for your help these past few months. I appreciate it so much. I brought my little three-year old home today. She is perfect. I just love her. My live has changed, for the better. She rode on my lap the entire way home, and we stopped for a quick dinner, and she was fine. I have not heard her bark at all. She potties outside, so far, but I have only had her home for three hours. I made a pit stop at Walmart and now have $130 wrapped up in dog beds, shampoo, leashes, stakes, toys, crate, carrier, etc. Where do I get the cute dog bows? She came home with a rubber band in her hair, and I cut it out. She smelled awful, so she had a flea bath, and I found one dead flea on the kitchen floor. My house will probably become messy, as she follows me around all over. The breeder had 3 adults, 5 puppies, 2 cats, a Lab and two grandchildren in a 900 sq. ft. home. Wow! I hope Sadie does not get bored. She tolerated her bath very well, and also the hairdryer. I need to get her to a groomer, but my breeder said she leaves her long silky hair long, rather than a puppy cut as she has fine hair. I am going to ask the groomer her opinion, but what do you all do with fine hair - leave it long. Mom loves her long hair, and I know it would look better if she were properly groomed. Thank you all, and keep your fingers crossed that this works out. She sees the vet tomorrow. Kate and Sadie |

| I know you are on Cloud 9!!!! Personally I would leave her hair long, but you must be sure to brush/comb it everyday down to the skin or she will mat! Pay careful attention when you comb to her "armpits" and under her chin, and her legs. those are great matting areas! Can't wait to see pics! |

| Sorry to keep advising you! Don't let the groomer cut her "bangs"! That happened to us once and it took forever to grow them out again for the topknot! Just thought I'd pass it on! |

| Welcome! Your Sadie sounds like a doll! Can't wait to see pics. I would definitely keep the hair long...just make sure you keep her cleaned and brushed and she will be beautiful. Oh my....she really came from a crowded home. Do you mind if I ask why the breeder sold a 3 yr. old? I bet you are as happy as can be!! How much does she weigh? Let us know how the vet visit goes. Take care,

| Don't you worry about Sadie getting bored. She will become velcro dog and be stuck to your leg.. She will just need your attention and love and she will forget her past very quickly. That is, of course, unless she was a "Sadie the Shady Lady!!" and then she might miss the nite life. LOL If you do not want her bangs (visor) trimmed, stress it to the groomer so she can note it. I keep a thin visor cut on mine cause they are always pulling out each others topknot! Like everybody else sez-pics!!!!!! |

| The said she weighs 6 lbs., but I got on the scale today, and she is 5-1/2. She did not eat until tonight (I got her yesterday). The breeder did not have a set feeding schedule for her, and I don't think the food she sent me is what she likes, except for the soft food. There were so many dogs there, so that is why I say that. Tonight, I opened the soft can of food, and she ate 1/2 of it. Later, my Mom said that was way too much, but I was happy just to see her eat. Dad thinks she is too thin, and I got an appt. at 4:15p with the vet tomorrow. IF she has serious health problems, I am guaranteed my money back. Lord help me, if she is ill. It will break my heart. I am too attached to return her now. She now has full run of the house, but is always at my feet. Will this get old for her, once she is used to her new surroundings, or is this a typical Yorkie. I love it, so I hope it keeps up. No messes in the house, at all. I finally heard her bark. I had her on the back deck, and she saw a big dog across the street. It all happened so fast, that I wish I would have known it was coming. I am glad she is not a yapper, and hope it stays that way. Are those bows real tight, like rubber bands? I cut the old rubber band out of her when I bathed her last night, but regret it as it all hangs in her face. Mom tied a pink ribbon on her, and she shook her head, and presto, it was gone. I like the tip about little girl hair clips, and will get some tomorrow. Her breath is awful, since she ate that soft food. What do you do for this? I mean, it is awful! Do you let your dog sleep with you? Sadie was in her crate until 6:30a. I took her outside, then let her sleep on the bed, and she was fine. I hope you don't advise against it, as she will be in my bed again tonight. Bad breath and all. The breeder sold her as her first pregnancy resulted in four pups, and she had her second litter in January, and had five pups. She had such a hard time that the breeder said never again. I guess they breed them up to five years, so I consider myself lucky. I think she will look better after getting a professional cut, and I am checking into that now. Thanks everyone.
