| Leaving Remi with AC Guys, do you leave the dogs at home with AC on? It gets hot during the day, temps in high 80s' low 90's. I want to leave AC on for Remi, but I am afraid what if something happens, like fire, a short, its an electronic device, so who knows. I feel so bad for him being at home without ac. How are Yorkies with heat? He is happy as usual. Any comments? |

| We always leave the AC on for ours. I used to worry about the same thing, but have never had a problem, so I'm getting a little more relaxed about it. Of course, we don't all leave at the same time for very long, so that is good. We also leave the TV on for them. I don't think they care what channel it is, just so it makes some noise. I've heard people say they leave it on Animal Planet, but ours don't seem to care. |

| Funny- I worry about the same things. Then my dog walker informed me of just how hot it was getting while I was at work, so I decided it was best to leave the AC on. We live in S. Cali and I just have to now. I just checked and made sure my fire alarms were working, just in case. Sometimes, I think that even if there was nothing to worry about, I would still worry. I don't like leaving Merlot at home by himself. One of these days, when I increase my income, I'm gonna get him a dog nannie! |

| We have central heat and air. I cannot imagine NOT having it on. Plus I have a ceiling fan that I leave on most of the time for extra circulation |

| We also have central heat and air. It is always on. We also leave the TV on as well. If I leave it is left on animal planet. If hubby leaves he thinks they like the discovery channel better. |

| I leave my air on also, but, I set it higher. Just enough so they can be comfortable.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I leave central air on if I am gone. The vet told me the other day when I had Cali in for being lethargic that these small dogs can have a hard time regualting their body temps so to keep her out of the heat.

| Well we dont have central air, infact very few do in NYC, sucks for me, and Remis for that matter. I dont know...I'll try doing it next time. Its just in case of the fire, I work 40 minutes away from home, she is 20 minutes away from work, and no one would save Remi, I would hang myself if something bad happened. I will try to rewire the wiring for the AC and see how it looks. Thanks for input all. |

| I leave it on, but turned up so...but enough so that she's comfortable. I also leave the radio on for her.

| we also have central heat and air and ours in on all the time....i also leave the tv on for BO and if we are in the truck i leave the radio on for him and a light....i would think leaving them without air would not be safe they might sufficate without it...imo it would be a safer bet to leave it on and not take the chance of them dying of a heat stroke than to worry about a fire....i would check into having it seen about so that it is safe to leave it on for the little guy. |
