| for those w/boys When they were pups and not use to the whole grooming, daily brushing routine, did you ever trim/shave their bellys? Choco was matted from not letting me brush it fully along with peeing on it! Yes I trimmed the "whick" to help with that problem. I just took some scissors to his belly and trimmed it down as much as I could. I had to give him a baby kong w/some p'nut butter in it to get to stay on his back.........which might be an everyday thing so I can brush his tummy. He just attacks the brush and comb after a few strokes, so grooming him is a 2 man job around here.

| Hobbs is now 8 months old and good about letting me brush him, but he sure did hate it when he was younger! He never got matted, but we always keep the hair on his belly and "privates" really short bc otherwise pee drips off. Eww! Be persistent about brushing him. He will get used to it and it will pay off in the long run. |
