Why so inexpensive? I just ran across an ad that said: $500, Yorkie LITTLE FEMALE TEACUP YORKIE, WILL BE IN THE 4 TO 5 LB RANGE FULL GROWN. SPECTACULAR IN EVERY WAY. I would love to get another little girl!! They had a picture posted with the dog in a purple bow all dolled up. She is a cutie. But I have to wonder why do you all think she is so inexpensive? Most of the yorkies here go for $800 to $1800 range. Could something be wrong healthwise? And how would I actually be able to find that out? Or could it be part of a scam? I did send a note telling a little about myself, and I asked the age, whether she was vaccinated, vet checked, how long she'd been breeding. So hope I get a response soon! That would be a stroke of luck to get a healthy yorkie so inexpensive, hopefully it's not just too good to be true.

I think its a scam too. Please be careful, and do not share too much info about yourself right away. 900-5000 is the range here. There was a pup for 550, but when we went to see him he was shaking terribly and continuously even though he was in a familiar environment.

puppys here are abou $300 -$900 dep on size & reg! but there's no such thing as a teacup there are yorkies that are bred to be smaller though and may have future health problems due to being bred to be smaller but no reputable breeder breeds "teacups" at least that i know of. i may be wrong though. but yes that's a low price for a small yorkie unless it's ckc then it's kind of in the middle range. i also don't think that breeders can guarentee sizes of babys there's no telling how big they may actually get.if they reply asking you to send $ to ship from nigeria or somewhere then it's a scam but you never know. where did you find this add? just be careful. usually if it seems too good to be true well it is.

you never know if it's a scam until you thoughly check it out. i got my yorkie for $650. champion sired and beautiful. he just came from a local breeder that wanted him to go to a loving home. she wasn't looking to get rich just to find good homes. breeding was her hobby. she was already wealthy.

It was a scam!! He emailed back right away. I looked at yorkietalk before I read the email and you all were right on! ---- Thanks for the mail, yes the puppy still up for sale, the puppy is health guarantee, and AKC Reg, but i am currently not in the States at the moment, due to the nature of my job i am into international contracts(sale and supply of Fabics)so im in west africa (Nigeria)the puppy is also here with me also because there nobody to take a very good care of the puppy for me,so if you are interested let me know so email me your full name and address so that i can arrange for the shipping and i want you to promise me that you take very good care of puppy for me because that is all that really matters to me. Thanks ---- I found it in online classifieds... I was browsing because I want another yorkie, but my husband still needs to be convinced. My curiosity and hopefullness got the best of me, and I wanted to write to see how or why one could sell a yorkie for so inexpensive. I even told my husband before I emailed this person that the picture of the yorkie looked familiar (I have browsed so many breeders websites). I will report this person to the website they were advertising. eta: I am so thankful for this website. Whenever I have a question about anything Yorkie, the community here is so helpful and knowledgable.

It may or may not be a scam. I only paid $500 for Mollie but, I did get her from a friend she also has sold several more for that price. I would just talk to the person and if they are close enough see if you can go and look at her. If they give you the run around than I would consider that a big red flag. Just use your best judgment. Not everyone out there is in it for a scam though most are. Good luck and please keep us posted. Sorry posted this before I read your update. Good for you finding out before you gave them money.

Oh my gosh! I got the same reply to that email last week. What a scammer. They offered to ship the dog to me for extra $$ and I just deleted the email. I am sure glad neither one of us fell for the scam. How mean and cruel!! I love these little furbabies and the thought someone would use them to scam people is just sick to me. I hope they get caught and get in trouble. There is also another one I got recently that was for a female for 400.00 and she emailed me back and said sorry she was sold, but her friend had a female she wanted to sell. So I emailed the friend and she is supposedly in Africa and if I wire her the $$ she will ship the puppy to me. Yea Right, I am not that stupid, people are cruel!!!!

| I dont trust anyone selling puppies from out of the US. Sorry if that gets me into trouble, but that's where most of the scams are coming from. We were helping a friend sell her bulldog puppies online. And I had this Nigerian guy email me wanting to buy the whole litter. He was gonna send me a money order for more than the amount we were asking and then I was suppossed to send the remaining back to him. We realized it was a scam right away and contacted authorities.
