| fruits and veg.? Are fruits and vegitables bad for yorkies? Illy seems to like them. Is that unusual? She likes to play fetch with grapes. Any kind of fruit or vegitable that falls on the floor she scoops up and eats it. Is that bad for them?

| Some fruits and vegetable are good for them but not grapes. You can find this in the Yorkie Health and Diet section under List of Dangerous Foods for dogs. Grapes/Raisins: As few as a handful of raisins or grapes can make a dog ill; however, of the 10 cases reported to the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC), each dog ingested between 9 ounces and 2 pounds of grapes or raisins. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and lethargy.

| Some of the foods Gus eats - carrots, peas, bananas, apples. He loves when the peas are frozen.

| Kona is a huge carrot fan. She knows when I pull the bag of carrots out of the fridge. The other night I was making a salad and I told her she had to eat her dinner before getting a carrot. Well one of my carrots fell on the ground and before I could even start to bend over to grab it, she ran up and took it in the other room. I try not to give her too many in one day. I'm sure moderation is the key. |

| Tucker grabbed a piece of a tomato last night. I thought, no way...but he ate it and came back looking for more. Of course, he will eat anything!

| Ooopps! I guess Illy won't be getting anymore grapes. She does love carrots though. I found this out b/c when I was cutting some up the other night I chunk fell on the floor and she came in and took it before I could bend over and pick it up. She's too fast! LOL!

| Milo loved fruit - not so keen on the veg though except for peas! I think he had a sweet tooth and would start barking if we had fruit (especially banana and mango)

| I've owned a few dogs in my lifetime but never have I seen a dog like fruits and veggies like Topher! I'm absolutely amazed with what this little guy loves to snack on! My other dogs seemed to turn their noses up at fruit...especially stuff like watermelon, cantaloupe; and green veggies. Topher loves them all! It's quite amazing and it does seem to be something the breed has in common. |
