| For those who work... I've had my yorkie for 2 weeks now (he's 14 weeks old) and have been home with him every day. Monday morning I go back to work. I didn't anticipate him being so needy. I come home for lunch every day and his daddy can stop in later in the afternoon to check on him most days. What do you guys do with your yorkies while you work during the day? Should I give him a potty area inside his crate? Or see if he can hold it until we get home to let him out? Your suggestions are greatly appreciated!! I'm starting to feel huge guilt pangs!

| Welcome to YT. I have 2 yorkies and have a full time job. My Tiger is good at holding for 7 hours but my Annika is only 15 weeks so she is confined to a big expen where she has a daybed, a pee pad and water. It is a great investment and your baby will not be able to wreck your home while you are gone |

| I work all day also and I go home everyday during lunch too, Lady stays in her crate while we're gone and when I go home for lunch I let her out, then a few hours later my bf gets home and then shes out for the night until bed. I never left the wee-wee pad in her crate because I didn't want her to get used to going in there. I have had her since she was 11 weeks and shes been doing great this way. I have had no problems with her. |

| Hi, I too work full-time. I got Izzy at 15 weeks(she's 8 months now) and she stayed in the laundry room at first. That didn't work - She ate the walls, peed and pooped everywhere. So, I bought a small crate for her. She stays in there all day and sleeps there at night too. I am able to go home for lunch 3 days a week to give her a potty break, but on the days I can't go home, she's able to hold it. For the first 3 days she had accidents, but soon got the hang of things. She also holds it all night. She goes into her crate between 10:30 and 11:00pm and wakes me up at 6:30 in the morning to go out. After she goes out, I put a gate up at our bedroom door and she can run around in our bedroom and bathroom (I still don't trust her in the whole house.) She eats and I put her back in her crate when I leave for work. I don't leave any food or water in her crate...Just her pillow and a few toys. Then, as soon as I get home, I take her out to potty, and then back inside to eat. I've finally gotten her schedule down pat. It took a while and I got very frustrated, but I'm so proud of her now. You'll figure out a routine that'll work for you. Best of luck! ~Ashley and Izzy

| I would have liked to use the expen instead of the crate for Lady, but I have a very large cat and he wasn't all too happy about Lady's arrival..but the crate has worked out great for us, Ladys loves it, she still has some accidents, but never in her crate. Congrats kalina82 on your new little one, when are you getting her? |

| i'm a teacher, so i'm off for the summer now, but during the school year i kept tucker in the bathroom. i bought a baby gate and left him water, a puppy pad, and his crate. he's done really well with that. i was afraid to leave him in his crate all day b/c i couldn't come home at lunch. he goes outside when i'm home, but the pee pads work while i'm gone. sometimes he only uses them once or twice before i get home. this has worked for us, but i'm sure it all depends on your situation. i'm afraid he's going to be MAJOR spoiled this summer! |

| I always leave the water bottle in Ladys crate at all times, at first she had a few accidents in the crate but now shes very good at holding it. I a gate sent up in my kitchen for her when we're home and not able to watch her. Her crate and wee-wee pad is in there and plenty of room to run |
