| How much did your dog gain after spay? The ten month old "tiny" that we inherited is getting spayed next week. I have TRIED to fatten her up, but she is still only 2 lb. 4 ounces~! I'm really hoping that she bulks up a bit after getting spayed! I'm sure most people here had their pups spayed much earlier, so any subsequent weight gain was probably indistinguishable from normal continuing growth. But do you think I can count on this helping her put a little more meat on her bones?!

| Pixie gained 1lb... But she was 5 1/2 months when I had her spayed (she's about 11 months now), so I think that was just normal growth. |

| I'm having the same concerns. Brownie is getting spayed at the end of the month too. I've heard that they will gain about 2-3 lbs Does the overall body shape change or do they just gain it in the tummy?

| I don't think it's so much the surgery as it is overfeeding and lack of excercise... Pixie isn't any fatter than she should be, but I watch her food/treat intake, go for walks quite often and play with her for a couple hours each night. |

| Holly has gained 100grams! She was 6 months old when spayed. She now looks less bony, but is still full of energy. She gets a daily walk and lots of play time. She is still growing--I hope -and is 1.6kg at 7 1/2 months-that's about 3 1/2 lbs? Her appetite has increased, but she was horribly fussy before,so I am wrapt! I will keep an eye on her figure, though,as I don't want her to get overweight. Don't see why she should, with enough exercise.

| I didn't notice anything with Reagan. I mean she gained weight b/c she was 6 mths old at the time but I would say all of it was just normal growth. I could be wrong though, but I didn't notice any big changes as a matter of fact I didn't even think about it until reading this post, she's 20 months old now.
