| UKC Registered Does anyone know much about them I have heard of AKC and CKC but never UKC. Are they reputable and are they better than akc i mated my male yorkie with a friends yorkie that was registered and know i find out that its UKC. Is this going to be hard to mix with the Akc registration . She says its because her yorkie came from Ireland. |

| You might want to repost this in the breeder's section. I do not know the difference but I know that some froeign regsitries are automatically recognized and converted easily to AKC but I do not know if UKC is one of them. A PM to Whispersmom2 or YorkieRose would probably get you an answer. Good luck! |

| My ddb is UKC registered (the breed isn't yet recognized by the AKC). AKC will not accept UKC registration. But you can register your male with the UKC as well, it really is no trouble at all to dual register your male with the UKC so the pups will be UKC registerable. If you don't register your male as UKC, you won't be able to register the pups, with the UKC. Nor with the AKC since AKC doesn't recognize UKC registration. I feel the UKC is as good as the AKC, personally Last edited by PinkMartini; 04-18-2005 at 01:29 PM. |

| UKC recognize more breeds than AKC, am i right? I know they recognice pitbulls I do think you would be able to transfer your yorkies pedigree to UKC as well and register the puppies with UKC.

| But the staff is different from the pits....even though they are very similar, still 2 distinctives breeds (at least with CBKC - Brazilian Kennel Club) My bf has a pit that had a registry...it was not a pedigree though, but his dogs puppies will have a pedigree as long as the female have a registry or ukc pedigree.

| I don;t quite know what is the final difference...but there is so many breeds that have the same look about them, Brazilian Dogo, Argentinian Dogo, Pitbull, Staffordshire, and even some american bull dogs sometimes look very similar to me. I love all there breeds, by the way

| Ukc Well from what I have heard the UKC is just as reputable as the AKC. Baby is registered with the UKC..and I was happy to find out their headquarters are located in Kalamazoo, MI which is about 45 mintues from me and the city where I go to school. Kinda cool I thought. Sorry about my randomness! |
