Rudy got out and the chase was on My Mom came over today to see the pictures of my niece's baby shower. She came through my garage and usually I put the garage door down after she come, but I was on the computer loading the pictures. When she went to leave, as I was saying wait Rudy, there he went, then Maddie went out. Here I was with my pj's on my hair in a towel, I had just washed it and NO bra Maddie stoped when I told her to sit, mom picked her up, she minds very well. The toot Rudy thought I was playing and off he went, me behind. He went across the street, I stood in the middle stopping traffic, what a sight. Then he went across another street, Mom stood in one street to stop traffic and me in the other, didn't know which way the toot would go. Finally a young guy down the street that had just got out of a car saw Rudy and me and stoped. Rudy went toward him, I told him his name is Rudy please call him and grab him any way you can. Thank God he got him. Now that we had about 10 cars stoped. I should have beat him, but all I could do was hug him. He is 9 months old and I have never had a dog to runs when you open the door. Need some help. Got a expanding gate today to put up so he can't get to the door. As you can tell he has recovered from his tonsillitis ....................Cindy

What a scare! One time we were outside just sitting in the sun, and Yoda DISAPPEARED! He went through a little tree and bush area out onto the street! Such a scare! You want to spank them silly, but you just can't! :P Glad to hear you guys were so good at stopping traffic! We still need to train Yoda better on when the doorbell rings and such as well. He gets so darn excited when UPS man or anybody comes over!

Rudy the little runner! OMG.......so glad he was caught....would not know whether to pop him or hug him.......Max has done that twice...through the open garage door.....It is even more a problem when others are here in the house.....they don't cover all the bases...(escape bases)......I was hysterical....sounds as if you and your mom were doing your best to grab the little felon....... Glad it turned out OK Max's Mom

They are way too fast for any normal human! When they are fleeing from you in chase mode, it's darn near impossible to get them. A treat as a bribe does help at times, though!

| Sadie got out the door two times and went running. They are way too fast. We now have plastic mess on each door way to try to keep her in. It's a pain for us humans but I don't want her to get out again. She's not very good with the "stay" command.

Rudy!! My greyhound is very adept at escaping . The trainers at the Track suggested that rather than running after her(Yeah, I'm racing again and I'm winning)I was to sit on the ground and clap my hands and happily call her name like I wanted to play. Well it worked , but you can imagine how difficult it was to stay put and "happily" call her name while she headed for the busy street!! For my Golden I have a hand/verbal signal that means that I have something in my hand sooo good to eat, that its doggy heaven if you come back to me. I train with it occasionally to keep Dudley sharp and of course I keep a supply of"fried hot dog bits" in the freezer. Dudley will do anything for a fried hotdog bit.My grandson accidently let Dudley out of the yard this past spring and the command and hand signal stopped him on a dime. Of course the hotdog bit was still in the freezer but he came back to me and I maintained the hand signal(sort of like a roman salute, fist clenched arm across my chest ) and he followed me back to the house eyes never leaving my clenched fist until I went to the freezer and gave him a fist full of the blessed bits. Whew!!! Owen seems to be a real firecracker so I've got some safety recall training ahead of me if this "rescue" works out.
