| Any suggestions for Car Sickness? My baby girl who is a real mama's girl gets terribly carsick. It breaks her heart not to go with me, I have tried not feeding her breakfast when I take her to work with me, but she still gets sick. Spoke with my vet, said we could give her a mega small dose of valium, but that will make her sleep all day, which would defeat the purpose to taking her on a 15 min car ride to sleep all day. My vet suggested she be able to see out the window and I have a raised car seat for her, leave the window cracked, but it does not help any. Poor baby, I can tell, so I pull over and let her vomit in the towel, and then she smells like puke and so do I. Anyone had this problem and any possible solutions? |

| My dog growing up ALWYS got car sick, even for a 5 min drive to our aunts house. The only thing that ever helped him, was opposite of what your vet said, we used to put him in a small carrier on the floor with a towel ontop so he could not see. For him it was more the seeing everything going by then the actual motion. You might want to give it a shot...either way, I hope you figure it out! Good luck!

| Someone said feed them ginger or ginger snaps before you go. My Jewels used to get car sick too but she outgrew it and I was so happy.

| Out of my four, only one does not get car sick. I've tried everything from letting them look out the window, to taxi on the floor to holding them on my lap, (scary because it's just not safe). They usually only get sick one time and then they are fine. I was amazed that when we went to the Indiana meet-up, none of them got sick on the way there or back and it was an hour drive one way. I think mine do better on the highway, it's the bumpy county roads that get to them.

| I got very lucky with my Katia because she doesn't get car sick and never did. I would try making it so your dog can see out of the window. I hear it helps a great deal if they are able to actually see the movement rather than only feeling it.

| You might want to try taking very short trips, making them a little longer each time. She needs the window open a little for air. Her car seat should be set so she can see where you are going. I heard about the ginger snaps too, so you might give that a try also. Best of luck to you,
