| Questions about MOVING OVER SEAS I have read the links about travel with your pets, especially the airline infor. I have researched the specific airlines, so I am set on that BUT... I have heard some conflicting information about taking your yorkie overseas and quarantine? My husband and I may have the chance to MOVE to Germany later this year and wanted to be prepared and knowledgable about our decission. I have heard there is no quarantine but a chip or tatto is required, proper vaccinations, and a health certificate....I have gone to Germany's embassy website and also researched some info but wanted to know if any of you YTers had more info for me or better sites to look at? If you could point me in the right direction, I would appricate it. I know that we have many knowledgable members here from all over so i just wanted some input. Thank you.

| thank you for the quick response my husband and i were looking at the smae website before i posted. My concern is....my husband is in the airforce and if we get orders to move we are only given a certain amount of time so i want all my paperwork in order and ready to go....the website states this"""""These countries also require that not only has the pet been vaccinated against rabies but that additionally a rabies serological test has been conducted and shows a sufficient level of antibodies in the blood of the pet. This test must be done in an approved laboratory and takes 181 days.""""Is this something we should do now? We will find out Sept. 15th if we will be moving over to Germany, even right now that is not enough time. What should I DO?

| I've moved Brownie from country to country and all the laws are different. But what I CAN tell you is that all tests must be done within a week's time of your leaving, some can only be done 24-72 hours, depending on what tests. These tests ensure that your puppy is not sick and will not affect their country at time of importing. The approved lab tests at 181 days...I'm sure you can find another lab that can do this test faster. Let them know of the moving situation, most of the time they can help.

| I completely understand why they do testing, and I agree with it. What i am afraid of is quarantining her...i am an overprotective mommy. I would hate to quarantine her and her come home with something. She is such a pampered puppy too, i don't know what i would do without her during that period of time....i am selfish he-he.

I'm from Germany (Munich) and you will see that G. is much more pet friendly. You can take your baby every where even to a restaurant. Just not into grocerie stores. Where in G. are you going to move to? If you need any other kind of info about Germany let me know! | |
