| Yorkie Adventures? I am a little over excited about having my first Yorkie, which I have wanted since highschool, and now I want to take her everywhere Well, she needs to get her shots first and the vet needs to say its okay. But, I have been wondering how many people take their Yorkies secretly to places where "pets are not allowed." Not breaking the law of course, but bending the rules by going to places like shopping malls or the patio of a restaurant with a smartie Yorkie concealed in a tote or something? Any interesting stories? |

| It's really best to leave them home until they get all their shots, they're prone to any kind of bacteria and can get really sick. Also, if they're not allowed in stores or restaurants, it's best not to take them there either. Restaurants can get fined and in some cases, may be shut down.

| I was going to say the same thing about it not being vaccinated. Why take it to places when you don't know what kind of microbes are there? And if it's not allowed somewhere, you technically can be breaking a law. I'm sure that it's not allowed at restaurants for reasons, like if the FDA came and saw that, then they would fine the restaurant. The restaurant would be breaking a law, but it would be your fault. |

| Oscar loves to go too! Restaurants are just about the only place Oscar hasn't been. He goes to the mall with me, work, everywhere. I love having him with me - most people don't notice his little head sticking out of the bag and if they do, they think it's cute and start asking me questions about him. I've never run into any problems yet, or been asked to leave for having him with me (not even walmart)... so no stories.. YET!

| I wouldn't take him to restaraunts. That would be breaking the law (regarding hygiene, etc) I take Buttercup with me to the mall all the time and i think they allow it here or maybe not. Maybe it's because the mall is so big (Houston Galleria) no one notices |

| just an example A restaurant was just an arbitrary example. I am just curious about how Yorkies behave in public places, as well as the choices other Yorkie companions make about daily life, that is all. |

| I've taken Kona with me a few times to a restaurant. We specifically went to a place that had an outdoor patio so we could eat out there. Before we went in we asked if it was okay and they said "sure!". I haven't had a problem in most stores with her sitting on my arm, but yesterday, the security guard at Target told me she couldn't come in. |

| I want to take Bailey everywhere I go - but it just can't be done. Some places have rules (either their own or rules imposed by government) that say I can't take her there. As much as I want to, I'm not going to break their rules just so I can have my baby with me. If I had similar rules in my own home for some reason, I wouldn't appreciate someone trying to find a way around them. Having said that, thought - if there are no signs indicating my Bailey wouldn't be welcome, she's coming in with me. So far, I've never been anywhere that she wasn't fussed over and loved by just about everyone, but I've never had her anywhere that specifically forbid my taking her in. |
