| Yorkie's Don't Stink! I have 2, they are both given baths at least once a week, maybe even twice a week, depending on the weather. Artie seems to run and roll around in the puddles if it rains? Abigail on the other hand never wants to get wet, unless she's swimming? He may also smell like pee pee since he has a full coat and she smell different b/c of her hormones (since she just had a Litter 3 weeks ago)? Most of the time they don't stink at all! When my Sister had a Bichon.......she kept him tied up outside b/c he was stinky, she met my male Artie and she gave her Bichon away for free after spending $800.00 on him! She used to complain alot, and all I did was rave about how great Yorkie's are......a year later she mysteriously received a male Yorkie for Mother's Day (this past May) as a Gift from her Husband? Needless to say before that all she did was critisize Me, for being so in Love & spoiling mine! Of course now she is hooked on Yorkie's too! I wouldn't be surprised if your "Jealous" so called Family or any Friends for that matter, eventually got a Yorkie herself? Besides tell her she is the one that Stinks, since she is the only one that can smell it! Others always want what you have....or for whatever reason they don't want you to be completely Happy? I think it's just her way of letting you know she's aware of your Happiness In fact if I were you, I would just rub it in more! I have been on "First Dates", were they said "You need a Hobby, you spend too much time with your Dogs"! and that was their Last Date with me! Anyone who knows me, knows that they come first & foremost, it's not about Denial or being used to their smell even if you are? I personally would stay away from anyone being Negative, but knowing me I would probablly talk her into to buying a Yorkie by now! Good Luck, Aloha* |

| Cidney Well, I have to admit my biggie Yorkie, Scooter stinks............after he rolls in the dirt or mud out back other wise he smells perfect! My hubby will tell me sometimes Scooter needs a bath because he is starting to smell but I dont smell it and if he does, I still dont mind it. Sometimes I have to give Scooter two bath's because if I am not careful, he will sneek outside after his bath and roll in the dirt! |

| Re: Do yorkies stink? My boobah, 5 mos. 3 days old, has never stunk. Even when she's skipped a bath she smells like baby powder. The only time that boobah stinks is when she eats one of those bully stiks.

Sounds like your friend and her attitude stink. I bathe mine once a week I can stretch it if I like but I prefer the one week limit. I have never noticed that they stink. All dogs will have a bit of a doggie smell but it's nothing repulsive or that would stink up your house like that unless you let them go unbathed for a month or something and they played in mud.

| Any animal is going to smell if you don't properly care for them. Regularly bathe and clean up after them and you won't have a problem. |

| I have never felt that Buddy had any kind of order at all except a shampoo smell Even his mouth smells good. He gets bathed every other week and of course is an inside pet with walks during the day and night. He stays pretty clean. My SIL had a little poodle that I could smell in the next room. Oh god what an order and it was clean! |

| My Azraels paws smell like Frito's when I use certain shampoos, but I stick to what I know wont cause that. They both smell sweet and clean from bath to bath. |

| I think she's talking about a ferret - Now they smell - Yorkies - Not unless they roll in something foul. Tell her if she is unhappy with the smell of your house - please don't come over. |

| That is so rude of her to say that!!! Your brother-in-law needs to get a new gf!!!!!!!!!! Chloe normally doesn't smell bad. She only has a dog smell sometime. But I do bath her once a week. |

| My boys only smell bad when their belly hair gets long and they pee all over it!! Other than that, they are not anymore smelly than any other breed of dog out there!

| Tell her she must be smelling her upper lip!!! P.S. Zoey never smells. My husband and I have even had a discussion about how amazing it is that she has no smell.
