| I was mogged today and my Agapi ran away today was one of the most horrible days of my life. i was going to see a friend, i parked my car and was walking with my yorkie agapi.... it was the first time my friend was going to meet him. i saw these two guys walking with helmets on, they were walking with a moped or bike, i figured it ran out of gas. then i made it for the door of my firends building and one of them pulled me, he slammed me on the pavement and started pulling on my watch, i started sxccreaming "help me help me" and people started running towards me. the watch came loose, buti put of a fight for a few seconds, finally he got on his bike with the other guy taking my watch, i got up the ground and my hand was covered with blood. then i realized the dog (agapi) was gone. i started screaming "where is my dog"? people said they saw him run away, we looked and i desperately called him for 20 minutes... at some point when my husband got there i was too weak to stand i fell by his feet crying for my dog. the police took me in their car to look for him. then i had to give a statement, all thewhile, police and friends were looking around the area. there was a canal iin the area and we thought the worst. we looked and looked no sign of the dog. it was the darkest 2 hours of my life. then someone came in saying "your little dog is trapped in a net" we ran towards the place. it turned out he had gotten trapped on a net behind the fire department a blook away and they rescued him, they gave him back to me, he didnt seem shaken just happe to see me, i cried and kissed everyone, my hand still had blood on it. having found my dog is an incredible feeling, the police even said "is nice to see you smile" i was too distraugh even to talk.... the watch can be replace, we have it insured anyway but when my pooch was missing i thought someone had ripped my heart out and made me eat it... it was only for two hours but i will never forget it. do you think my dog will be scared more now about going outside??? anything i can do to help him? i am remarkably fine, even the police (the whole thing was on video) said it was amazing how strong i was and how i faced the attackers, but i am afraid what the dog saw: mommy being pushed to the ground and dragged.... do ou think he will be scared?? thanks for listening, i am so shaken. |

| You poor thing, what a horrible experience. You should consider getting pepper spray to carry with you. I do and let me tell you, I wave that thing around when I walk by myself anywhere, even during the day. I'm so sorry this happened to you but I'm glad you got your poochie back. No I doubt he will be scared. Animals are more resilient than we think.

| OMG! I am so sorry you had to go through that. Thank God someone was looking out for your dog. I don't think he'll be scared, he didn't know he was in the middle of such a drama! Whenever a dog runs away and then you found them, they seem all happy. That's because they didn't know they were lost! I hope you recover from your experience quickly.

| OMG!!!! this is truly terrible!! Quote:
When I was reading this all I was doing too was dreading hearing that you lost your furbaby. That would truly be THE THE worst day ever but I am soooooo soooo glad you found him!! I think he will recover but he may be weary of men? or people in big get ups like the helmets?? Or maybe he really couldn't process what was going on?? How old is he? Also did he have a leash on? Just so if this happens to anyone else they can know what to do with their baby?..?? I am soo sorry this happend to you - all over a watch? Jeez people! I am glad you had it insured though- that helps.

| I am so glad that you and your baby are OK. Yes, a watch can be replaced but your baby is your baby. Thank God, he was watching over the two of you today.

| you will BOTH be ok For you to be so ready to fight and struggle against your assailants tells me, you will be fine, your baby will also be fine.It is natural for puppies to flee and hide, because this is what they do in nature, until they are grown....then they will fight even to the end.You and your baby have each other, and you can use the shared experience, though bad, to strengthen your bonds.....the best things happened that coulda, so your Angel was watching over you both, if the puppy had fought, they very well may have injured it, so it running actually was good, you fighting and sending out the alarm was good, it kept you safe and response time of help was quick.I have been attacked several times in my life, and it was ussually in situations where there is no help to call for, so thank God your both o.k. and you both reacted correctly!

| thank you guys. yes this happened at 2:50 in the afternoon! worst: there were like 5 people around in the street, that didnt stopped the muggers from treating me like a mexican pinata! i have a cut in a finger, a crapped leg and scratches on an arm but i am okay. the place was a safe neighbourhood so this is totally out of the blue. when i saw the video thing of how the guy grabbed me i started crying because it was so horrible. when i went looking for my dog i had blood all over and i was walking like a zombie asking anyone if they had seen him, even perfect strangers started looking for him. it was so lucky he got trapped in that net, because there was a busy highway right in front of it..... so lucky indeed. i really thank god for it, it was a miracle, not once i thought about the watch, even left my hermes bag on the floor to look for the dog, some nice guy picked it up and gave it to my friends friend to hold for me... i didnt care at all. my dog seems normal he is sleeping.... i dont care if he doesnt pee where he is supposed to!! LOL he is everything to me my husband was so caring, he kept repeating to me "we will find him".... i am so lucky overall! |
