| tail doesn't wag! Hi, I'm a new user here. I recently adopted a baby yorkie and I've had her for a week. She's 8 weeks now and about 1 lb. The problem is I've yet to see her wag her little tail! She's active, loves people and loves to play, so I don't know why her tail won't wag. Is this normal? |

| When I first got Bella (at 3mths old) her tail did not wag at all, and she kind of kept it tucked close to her body... I would "play" with it to try to pull it up but it would clamp right back so I left it alone. At about 4 1/2 mths old, she started wagging it a bit and now at almost 6mths, it's stands nice and she wags it all the time. I wouldn't worry. |

| Sometimes the vet cuts their tail a bit too short and they have a more difficult time wagging.....Vivi's tail is a bit short and it took her a while to start wagging and she compensates by wiggling her entire back end.

| Welcome to YT. Your baby is still very little - give her some time to grow and I'm sure her little tail will wag. Sissy started wagging hers at about 6 months - now it goes non-stop!

| I was surprised like you when our playful little puppy didn't wag her tail at first - but she started after two or three weeks with us, age 10 or 11 weeks. |

| Kizzy didnt wag her tail until about a month ago. she is 4 months now. So she will i'm sure, I think it must be normal for them to keep their tail kinda tucked close to them until they are a little older.
