| Help!! I need advice, I may have found my Yorkie girl !!!! She will be ready in about 2 weeks. She will probably be a dark black with a very golden face! She weighs around 2 lbs at 6 weeks and the breeder thinks she may be around 5 or 6 lbs full grown! Dad is around 5 lbs and mom is around 6 lbs. She is the second litter of the mom and has a brother and a sister. Starsky is about 10lbs so a smaller yorkie would be great, but not too small!! She is offering a really good price for her. I have a friend, (who by the way got me hooked on yorkies) who has gotten two of her yorkies from this breeder and they seem healthy although they are quite a bit smaller but this one is from a different mother. I haven't seen her, she is in South Dakota and her daughter will bring her home at 8 weeks (which is about an hour away from me) I don't have to put a deposit down, she says to pay when I see the puppy, which I think is cool, because If I have a bad feeling, I can walk away. She seems very trusting for a breeder. Sounds like a little old lady and just a sweetheart. What do you think? She is only asking $700!!! I am so excited, should I get my hopes up? I told her we are going on vacation the end of June to Vail and I could pick her up on my way back and I still have vacation left to spend with her!! Oh tell me what you all think.

| I am staying up late tonight waiting for your opinions? I have to tell her tomorrow if I am definetly interested. I do have more questions to ask too. Like any past health problems Guarantee What does vet say? Is tail cut? dew claws removed. I know she will register AKC papers I am nervous, why? Partly is can I afford it? Will Starsky be okay with it? Are these normal feelings?

| Sounds to me like she'd be a perfect addition to your family! I'd say...go for it...like you say, if she doesn't look right, you can walk away! I'm so happy for you! I think your worries are normal...it may take Starsky a while to warm up to her, but I'm sure they'd soon become best friends! Have you got a name for her yet?

| Sounds good, but may be bigger than 5-6 lbs. 2lbs at 6 weeks is quite big. Not as big as 10 lbs though--lol!

| She was mainly selling her to breed. But I told her I didn't want to breed her, just love her to pieces. I haven't thought of any for sure names. I want it to begin with an "S" though. Any ideas? Starsky and Stella? hmmmm?????

| I think Starsky will be so excited to get a little sister. If she is a good breeder she won't mine you asking a lot of questions. Congrats, I hope it all works out for you and Starsky

| I am thinking of all the expenses. I remember shots are like $50 a visit and she will need about 3 more sets of these. Plus to get her spade is like around $300 I'm thinking. I have so many toys for Starsky, I won't need to get a whole lot for her. Connie, I do want to get a dress from you and a bow to match though. I have your site in my favorites! I also worry that they are taking her away from mom to early. Her daughter is going to South Dakota where the puppies are for some kind of reunion and will bring the puppy home (in Colorado) at 6 1/2 weeks and take care of her until she is 8 weeks before she will sell her to me. I feel may be if she is bigger, this will be okay? I hope she stays under 7 lbs though. I hope her hair is soft and silky. Starsky is curly and cottony. I have so many questions to ask and wish she had email so I can see her! (This lady is so old fashion, she doesn't have a computer or a cell phone!)

| Everything sounds good except I highly doubt that she will be only 5 pounds. 2 pounds at 6 weeks is big. I have had yorkies 2 pounds at 10 and 8weeks old and they both had small parents and both turned out to be bigger in 8 and 9 pound range. But I guess you never know, she may stop growing early and only get 6 pounds. If you don't mind care about her weight then I would get her. As far as her being young to go to a new home, I always heard 12 weeks or 2pounds or more. Since she is already 2 pounds I think she will be alright. Good luck, I hope everything goes great for you!!!!

| I figure I don't want a yorkie that it too small. Here's my situation. Starsky is 10 lbs and I do have another dog who is a beagle who is around 46lbs! Yes he is a hefer. I don't want the risk of one of them hurting my little girl. Haggis, the beagle is pretty mellow being he is almost 8 yrs old but he still likes to try to hump or dominate little things, even little people. plus my dogs jump off and on furniture all the time, she may want to follow. One more question. I know of another breeder who is going to call me when her puppies are born sometime in June or July. I know she has one little yorkie that isn't registered and I wonder what the price of her pups would be. I also want to ask about size again. Is it rude to call her and ask these questions?

| I think she sounds great but think by the weight she is now she will be bigger than 6 lbs. She is 2 lbs now and at 8 weeks you triple the weight to get the adult weight.

| Any good breeder will be more than happy to answer your questions. In fact they want you to ask all sorts of questions, so I don't think it would be rude at all. If she responds back in a negative way then you know that you don't want to get a puppy from her. So I would call her up and start asking questions, make sure to ask alot of questions and all of the necessary ones. If you want to know about the weight you will want to ask her if this is the first litter from those particular parents or if they have had several litters from the same parents. If they have had a few litters she may be able to tell you more about the weight past pups were and what you can expect. 2 to 3 pounds at 3 months should make the puppy more of a standard weight and not as big as your other one. Good luck with whatever you decide!!!

| THanks for you advice Yes she will be probably close to his size and Starsky jumps off and on furniture, and beds and I am sure she'll want to follow. I am just wondering if her parents are only 5 and 6 lbs, if she'll have a early growing stopping period. You just never know what you are going to get. I hear her mom and dad are very, very loving. And the breeder said she has lots of hair!! That could be part of her weight! (Ha!) Her dad has lots of hair also. I can't wait to see pictures of her. I get to pick between 2 of them and I found another breeder here that doesn't even know me and is helping me with advice (kindof like a 2nd opinion) She is so nice. Thanks for you positive input. I posted on another yorkie site and I have gotten nothing but negative vibes from them. Now what to name her? So far it's Stella, but I don't know what to add to that. Starsky's full name is Starsky Hutchinson from Hutchinson Kansas
