| Questions on purchasing a yorkie, help! Hi, I am new to this board and looking for a yorkie. I have been reading many cites on the internet, looking for breeders, etc. and now I am totally confused about some things. Can anyone help me as far as: 1) do you know of any breeders in Chicago or the surrounding suburbs? 2) What can I expect to pay for a yorkie puppy and why do some breeders list the price at $500.00 while others range from $1200.00 to $1800.00. I don't want a show dog, I just want this adorable little puppy to give to my daughter that has been asking for one for 2 years now, for her 9th birthday. I am dying for one also! I appreciate your help. Thanks, Esther |

| Welcome to YT!!!! Oh how sweet, the perfect Birthday gift! Did you look on the puppies for sale Threads, you can ask on the Breeders Threads too. As far as the cost, it's different everywhere. Let the Breeder you find know you are looking fo a pet, not a Show/Breed furbaby. Best of luck to you, and again Welcome!

Welcome. What a great birthday gift. I think it depends on what you are looking for just let them know you want pet quality and it also depends on where you live. Good Luck in your search and keep us posted.

| So the price of a Yorkie is higher or lower depending on the city you live in? Where could I find the best price without having to take a plane? I never see anyone in my neighborhood walking a Yorkie, but if I ever do I will be sure to ask them for a lead on where to get one! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Try Stardust Yorkies. Also coming up is a dog show in Grayslake, I'm not sure where you are in relationship but there will be breeders there you can talk to and see their dogs. Pm me if you want more info.
