| Whine whine whine Hello everyone As some of you know I just got a little girl on Friday and the first night she sleep good woke up about 2 times to use the bathroom. Well last night she showed the other side of her. She whined all night long. I don't think she is liking the crate! My little boy which I got 1 month ago never did that and now he sleeps all night long. Eveytime I say to him lets go to bed he runs to my room so he can get in his crate. I tried deviding the crate so she could have her space and Timmy could have his, well that didn't work for her. I tried taking the devider out all she wanted to do was bite Timmy and whine so I put her in the bed with us and can I tell you she went straight to sleep. Since it was line 4AM and I was working on 1 hour sleep I let her stay in the bed with us. This morning when my fiancee got up around 6AM she also woke up and so I took her so she can do potty. Well I put her in the crate because I was so so tired which I still am. She wasn't trying to hear it! I took Timmy out of the crate and I left her in there. She whined for over 1 hour until she made herself sick and threw up. I don't know what else to do? If I put her in my bed then I have to put Timmy in my bed because I would feel bad even though he is good in his crate. How long will this last? Shis is 9 weeks old now. Should I buy her a crate and just leave her in there for most of the day? |

My furkids Donating Member | my little girl never whinned or cried when I first got her...stayed in her crate all night...we took her on a vacation with us and I told my husband to put her to bed(meaning her crate) well.....when I awoke in the morning who do you think was cuddling beside me???? Yup! Sadie Mae..that's all it took...one night of sleeping with Mom and Dad and no more crate sleeping for Sadie! I don't mind her sleeping with us, just have to make room for her little fursister that is coming the middle of Sept!

| Do you feel like you have to crate them during the night? Kona has her own little bed. We pull it into our bedroom when it is time to go to bed. For the first few weeks she never used it. She started in there, but once the lights were off, she found her way to my laundry basket. After removing my laundry basket from the room, she has been able to sleep comfortably in her bed. We haven't started her sleeping in our bed because we've heard that once you start you can't stop. If you want to continue using the crate for sleeping, I'd get her her own crate. That way she feels she has her own space. |

It is my weakness I do want them to sleep with us but I don't want them to get used to it. I had her in a laundry basket the first night and she slept well but last night she didn't want to be in the basket nor the crate with timmy. She was also jumping out of the basket. Timmy did the same thing and when we woke up in the morning...surprise surprise.... I have brand new carpet in my bedroom. I then bought him a crate and he slept in it like nothing...but of course she is different and has her own personality. She just wanted to be in bed with mommy and daddy! Now that I thnk of it yesterday when daddy got home from drill weekend he took her to bed with him and they both sleep a few hours...I think she got used to the body heat really fast! Well daddy called and said that he will take care of her tonight so I can get some sleep. Also my mom offered to pick her up and stay with her and I was like ohhhh nooooo. I can't let her go! I am going to the pet store soon and get her her own crate because my little boy does not want to share, not even his toys nor his blankee, I had to order one for her. | |

| I'd just let her sleep with me - and Timmy too. My dogs started out sleeping with me - then they moved to the foot of the bed - where they are no problem at all....and now that they are older, they often leave the bed and sleep some place else nearby....only to come back to bed later. | Just keep in mind that she probably misses her litter mates and it will take time to adjust. When we first brought Bailey home we crate trained him at night until he was 6 months old and now he sleeps in bed with us. Morgan sleeps in her Xpen at night so she can get up and go potty and eat as she needs to. Good luck.

| This is what happens when you get no sleep! I just took these pics of them...she has been sleeping all day and Timmy has been sleeping for the past 2 hours. Poor Timmy didn't get no sleep because his sister decided she wanted to whine. First pic is Mimi and second pic is Timmy and of course I couldn't resist sending Timmy's pic in his baseball outfit, I took the pic yesterday. |

| I am having the same problem, she just whines all nght. It doesn't necessarily bother me, but I want her to be comfortable. I can't let her sleep in bed with us because my 6 yr old daughter often wanders in bed with us and I just think that that would be a disaster waiting to happen. My question is, is there anything I can do to soothe her. Maybe a CD with nature noises. I don't know any ideas? Thanks Tameika and Beauty |

| Hey - I'm with you! I just picked up my puppy on Sunday. Whine, whine, whine! Last night was the worst! I don't want to bring her into bed with me 'cause I did that with my first one and it turned out disasterous. Seperation anxiety - BAD! With our second, we just stuck it out for a week and he finally quit crying (maybe I should say screeming!). He did have a relapse, but soon got over it. I am a firm believer in the blessings of crate training - but oh those first agonizing days! The little girl I just got gets to come to work with me. Since we're always together I really have to keep a watch out for seperation anxiety. But that lucky duck - she gets to sleep all day after crying and keeping me up all night! But oh! She's a little doll! Hope it gets better for both of us soon! Smiles, Allison |
