| I give my girls ceaser's wet food - it's not great quality but they only get it every once in awhile. I'm sure one of the food gurus knows of a better quality food your mom can pick up though

| I give my dog science diet moist food. When he would not eat because he had diarhea I gave him baby food chicken sticks. I would cut them up into pieces and he ate it. I have also heard people say to give them boiled chicken and rice.

| thanks guys, ill try the science diet, and ceasers, and see which one she likes best, i had a tiny yorkie pom, years back, and he used to eat science diet, and had no problems with it, also a chihuahua who ate it, but im scared of switching her food, bc this is what shes been on since she was old enough to eat dry, with the exception, the guy i got her form grinding up the food for her. im eating mashed tators right now, and i gave her some off my finger and she seemed to like it, im not sure how good that is for her, but i just want her to eat a little something, its very unusual for her to not eat the nutra stat, she always gobbles it up when i give it to her, which is seldom |

| At petco and petmsart there is a canned dof food the is 95% meat (chicken/beef)They front is actully labeled that way. My vet actully reccomended this food because there is very little bad stuff. It is a regular dog food, but can be used on a puppy espesially if they wont eat anything else. My dog loves it and wont eat any of the other canned food.

| You might have to try quite a few things before you get her to eat. I wonder if her throat is hurting and thats why shes not taking the nutristat. I've never had a problem getting either one of my pups to take that.

| Yes, her throat is swollen due to her tonsils, and shes so helpless and even just a tiny bit, get her to eat, shes not drinking any either, so im going to fill a syringe up with water and give it to her orally just so i know shes hydrated |

| I would put the nutristat on her gums yourself also just so she doesn't crash on you.

| I forgot all about having a can of gerber chicken and rice jar of baby food, i spooned out a tiny tiny bit and she ate it right up, sitting on my knee, i didnt give her much bc its rich and i dont want her to get diarrhea. Im guessing till the swelling goes down she will have to have soft foods, the dry probably hurts to swallow. |

| Baby cereal, rice, can be mixed with the baby food that she likes and given to her. My feeling is, give them anything they will eat ! It is so important to EAT! Migt try syringing fat free, canned chicken broth too. |

| P.S. You can smash her regular dry food til it is like coarse corn meal. Then, mix it with water, broth, baby food or whatever. That way, you are not totally chcnging her food.. |

| Dick Van Patten's is very good. Mix the nutrastat or nutra cal in. Is the yt on painkillers? If not, get some quick. If her throat is swollen, then she probably needs a tube put into her stomach for stomach feeding until the swelling goes down. Dehydration is critical- even more important than food. I would not mess around- if the puppy can not drink or eat, then goto a good vet for IV for hydrating, and they can show you how to tube feed until the swelling goes down if that is the problem, and it is not pain. Good luck, deborah |

| If your furbaby has has pretty bad tonsilitis this is deffinately why she wont eat. Cookie had it also and he would not eat anything at all! Nothing. I tried several wet foods and he wouldnt go near it. I ended up boiling a small piece of chicken breast about the size meatball. I chopped it up into tiny tiny pieces and he would only eat it out of my hand. I went through this for a couple of weeks and it can be so frustrating and exhausting. The main thing is to make sure they have something in their stomach even if it's only a tsp of food per meal. Genie |
