| Free Yorkie! There was an ad in the paper for a free yorkie so like the dummy I am I called about it. I agreed to meet the people at a wal-mart parking lot to look at her. When I got there, there was this beautiful yorkie girl. The ad said she was 5 but the people told me she was going on 6 although they couldn't tell me the year she was born. I asked what kind of food they'd been feeding her and they couldn't answer that one either. Then the man told me she loved living outside and so that is where they kept her. I then decided to take this poor baby girl home. Since she has been here she has bonded with my kids although she's not fond of the other dogs. She barks at the back door if you put her outside and leave her. She seems to be house trained since I've only found 1 accident on the floor but couldn't determine who had done it.(My maltese is not house trained yet.) She cried for me at the front door when I left this evening to go watch my boys play ball and was so excited when I returned. The people said her name is Molly but she doesn't answer to it so I'm not sure. I am so shocked someone could give such a sweet baby away!

| I did not get any papers on her. I have an appointment on next Thursday to see if she is microchipped. The thought crossed my mind to that she might be stolen. Although if someone were to steal a yorkie I don't think they'd give her away. I was very puzzled by their lack of knowledge too. That is why I decided to take her so at least she wasn't with ignorant people.

| Bizarre. You might want to get her check out with the vet and have them scan for a microchip just in case. Otherwise, good luck. Any pictures?

| Something doesn't sound right there. Maybe you should have her checked by your vet. Maybe she is stolen and microchipped and you can find out if she belongs to someone else. But if she were stolen, wouldn't the theives try to make money off of her, rather than give her away? I don't know what to make of that...

| I've taken several pictures of her but haven't filled the camera up yet so I have to finish taking all the pictures to get the film developed. I will post pictures of her soon!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Maybe you can take her to your local Humane shelter to get her scanned for a microchip so that you don't have to wait until next week to find out and get more attached to her.

| Mysterious ways..... You know what? I just thought of something.... What if.......this puppy was stolen? What if........You were meant to be the one, whether based on your knowledge of puppy identification, or monetary resources.....? What if........a little girl lost her yorkie.....? What if......you could bring happiness to a family that has lost their beloved yorkie...... What if.....you are the chosen one....to be at the right place at the right time.... ---so as to save this puppy's life???????? How wonderful that you were there..... |

I would think if she were stolen they would be trying to sell her, not give her away. It all does seem odd though. Last edited by JeanieK; 05-25-2006 at 07:27 PM. | |

| I would take her to the pound and have her scanned. That way you can also check to see if one has been reported missing. There have been so many lost and found these past few weeks. I do believe that God puts you where you are supposed to be, when you are supposed to be there so it is no accident that you are the one who is taking care of this little baby....Keep us posted and give her smoochies from Rini's bunch... |

| yea it seems like if she was stolen that they would try to sell her. It could be that the real owner/s may have died. We knew what kind of dog she was and what she was fed only because there was a bag of it left in the kitchen. And my aunt said she knew the approximate (sp?) age but wether she really did or not who knows. Maybe the family just didnt' want to deal with an older dog. our vet will check for a microchip without an appointment. I brought one of our dogs in to get his weight and they checked it in no time. the doggie nurses can even do it it's very simple. and if they tell you she's registered to someone google the name or check the local obituaries before you start worrying
