| I need help fast :) RE getting a male yorkie. The breeder called and said she has some males that are ready to go today. I want one so bad that I cant stand it. My only reservation is because hes a male can I prevent him from hiking his leg and marking my house? We dont own any animals so thats no concern.I am so torn. She wont have any females that will be ready until late july providing they are some females and nothing happens to them. I just want one befone winter as I have tried to house break a dog and he and I nearly froze to death lol. Please share your male dog stories. Thank so much. I also mentioned this site to the breeder as its a great site. |

| Stewie doesn't hike his leg. Get your little man neutered ASAP and train him to potty outside if you want to minimize the chances that he will do that. But also think, if you have your heart set on a female, 2 months really isn't that long to wait. Yorkies could live beyond 15 years - waiting 2 months to get the sex you want is no time in the grand scheme of things. Also, welcome to YorkieTalk

| Yes! Hello and welcome! I have 2 boys....both were nuetered early....like at 6 monthes! And they are both squatters!!!!! Sooo darn cute! But my girl...well, she is the leg hiker!! Not inside...but outside!!! BUt, I have never had aproblem with m boys hiking. But you do what you really want! If you really have your heart set on a girl....she is worth the wait! Good things come to those who wait! But Boys are soo much fun and are such little snuggle bunnies!!!! So is my girl...but she is more of a daddy's girl!!! So she rarely ever sits with me!!! hehe!!!! Good luck with what you decide!!!

| Malibu is 9 months and we aren't planning on getting him neutered anytime soon. He lifts his leg outside, but he has never once lifted his leg in the house. For the first few months he squatted, so by the time he was lifting his leg, he was already potty trained. We have had no potty problems with him... |

| Oliver was fixed at 5 1/2 months and never lifts his leg in the house (besides inside the litterbox...) I think it's so funny because even though he hikes his leg his peepee still goes straight down because he's so small! It cracks me up that he tries to be a big tough dog (outside when he marks on trees) and his peepee doesn't even hit the tree! hehe Goodluck!
