| A male can be fertile at 6 months, but doesn't generally know what to do at that age. At least one year is a better starting point and even then you may need to help him out. Oh, and AKC will not accept a litter for registration if the male is not at least 8 months. |

I totally agree to wait till they are a little older. Breeder in town used a 8 month old male and nothing was produced. Could just be his sperm was not mature enough.
