| Fish pond / water garden tragedy Sidney, a member on another yorkie forum lost her beloved Pepper. He drowned in her fish pond. I got permission to crosspost this so that others can be aware. I think we recently talked about this danger on this forum. It's so sad, it just breaks my heart. Please take the time to also read the beautiful tribute done by another forum member whom also belongs to this forum. It's the rainbow bridge poem with Pepper's sweet picture. She did a wonderful job in creating it and it puts a face to this terrible tragedy. Rest well little Pepper. You Mommy loved you. Sidney's post informing us of her terrible loss... “My little Pepper drowned this morning in my fish pond. I'm in so much shock. I'll tell more later. I'm having a hard time.” http://www.*********.com/mbbs2/forum...d=5285&start=1 The following is a beautiful memorial to Pepper created by another forum member “In loving memory of Pepper” http://www.*********.com/mbbs2/forum...=5286&posts=14

| This is so heartbreaking, I read the news yesterday on the other forum and was in tears. Jeanne and Pepper have been close to my heart and on my mind ever since I heard the tragic news. I am glad you crossposted here so others can include them in their prayers and to also bring awareness. My Missy is a water baby, she loves the water. I will be keeping an extra close watch on both my babies as there are dangers everywhere. Sending Jeanne & her family lots of hugs and prayers Last edited by Missy's Mommy; 04-14-2005 at 04:04 PM. |

| Oh, dear God in Heaven! I am so sorry to hear of this tragedy. We have had so many babies cross rainbow Bridge in the past 2 months. Rainbow Bridge has a path worn to the other side.. I have a small fish pond in my back yard and I was afraid one of my critters would fall in. SO, I filled one end almost to the top with gravel so so they can swim a very short distance and their feetsies will touch the gravel. It works! Every year I have one take a swim before they learn not to take a short cut to get to the steps to get back on the deck..It seems no matter how much we try to protect these wonderful babies, they can still manage to hurt themselves. Sidney, Pepper is waiting for you and running and playing and barking his wee head off with the rest of our babies that have died ...You are in my prayers and I will pray that you can find the courage to not blame yourself and forgive yourself. Give yourself time and permission to grieve just as if he were your hooman baby. That is what they are to us. |

| The loss of Jeanne's Pepper is almost incomprehensible as we watched him grow in his first year. It was like we all knew him too! I cannot imagine what she must be going through. Please ler her know that her fellow yorkie lovers on YT are mourning with her. |

| This is such a tragedy. I'm treary eyed just reading this. I can't believe this happened. I don't know this person or this dog but i so feel her pain and sorrows . Losing a pet is like losing a member of a family member. I know people tell me that dogs don't dream and that they don't go to heaven but i strongly believe that they do and pepper is in heaven right now. He's gone but will forever live on in his families heart. |

| I don't know Jeanne or Pepper but my heart goes out to her and my prayers go out to her. I am landscaping my back yard and was going to put in water feature, that just is not going to happen at all now. I just can't imagine! God Bless!

| Pepper I heard about Pepper and it is beyond sad. Another member on that forum lost her little Yorkie girl right before Pepper. It was so hard to read the postings. |

| Omigod, this is sooo sad and it breaks my heart. I have 3 turtle ponds that I will be monitoring much closer. This is horrible but maybe it will be an eye opener for those of us with ponds and prevent more tragedies. |

| that it very sad to hear. it's strange to me how we don't know these people or their lil furbabies yet when something happens to them we all feel the pain as if we had always known them. it breaks my heart to hear these stories and i think everytime we hear one we all watch our babies a little more closer than yesterday. please let her know that she is in my thoughts and prayers. |

| AHHH that is SO sad,, what a beautiful picture on the deck, what a sweetie, that is so horrible, really lets you know how much they mean to us, and how quickly they can be taken.
