| He is adorable! My aunt actually has a AKC registered Yorkie that is turning 2yrs old this weekend and just had his yearly shots and weighed in at a whopping 20lbs. Maybe his name had something to do with him growing so large. (OXAN Ray Bailey) Oz for short! and we love him dearly just as much as we love our smaller yorkies!

| What a sweet sweet baby you have. He is adorable and I bet he is a good little snuggler too. My little 4.4lb baby takes up the majority of my queen size bed, so I bet your lil guy does that and then some. Yorkies are wonderful no matter what size they are.....they have so much love to give.

| LOL, this thread was started in 2005. Wonder what is going on with the original poster? I see he hasn't posted since last year. How big did the "mutant" get? Being owned by two mutant teapots, I love these threads. Bernie and Ginger weigh in at 17 and 13 lbs, and I wouldn't have them any other way! Your babies are all adorable! Keep the pics coming!

My furkids Donating Member | I think he is adorable! Years ago yorkies were on the larger size. I think somewhere are the 20 lb mark. Maybe he is just taking after his great, great, great, great grandpa!

| Not mutant just a genetic throwback... I am really surprised that your vet was so skeptical. With the breeds that are thought to be involved in the lineage of the modern yorkie it is not unheard of for a dog or bitch to show up over the standard. Sasha is a hearty 7.5 lbs right now at 6 months. I don't think she is going to be much heavier but still the AKC standard says no more than 7 lbs. |

| Mutant Yorkie. World's largest Never new yorkies got that big. I think they tend to be more healthy than the tiny ones. Tricksie is 19 months and 8 lbs. I love her size.
