| I have a little canine health reference book. It a little info on this condition. Say's it's an accumulation of fluid in the cavities or ventricals of the brain. May lead to seizures and "rarely" vision problems. Seizures are usually treated with drugs which reduce the production of cerebrospinal fluid. Has anyone ever seen the Breed All About Yorkie episode? It seems like there was a little yorkie on that show that had seizures..I think her name was Honey. I wonder if that was caused by something like this.

| I'm sorry to hear about your puppy. I heard about puppies with this problems but I don't have any advice to give. This is a very serious problem. Have you taken her to the vets and ask for advice from the vet? Poor baby. Please keep us posted on Zoe. Last edited by yorkieagility; 04-13-2005 at 07:21 PM. |

| Hi Zoe's mom: I can't help with Zoe's medical problems but I wanted say hello and welcome as a fellow San Diegan. Do you already have a vet? What part of San Diego are you in? We have an active yorkie meet up group and it's possible someone in that group may be able to help. PM me if you want more info. Good luck. |

| We were soooooooo stupid in the beginning. We didn't even know right off the bat there was a problem. When the puppies began to grow a bit, this particular pup wasn't keeping up. However, his head was a bit larger than everyone elses. Everyone else kept growing, but 'manard' remained small except for his head. Then he began to do something strange, his tongue seemed to get stuck on the roof of his mouth. He wouldn't be able to breathe or couldn't seem to stop unless he had help. We would lightly tap the back part of his head and that helped him get back to normal. I got SO attached to that little guy. Vets told us they couldn't help him. It seemed he went down hill fast. I held him and read to him all the time. It tore my heart out the night he passed. He hadso much will to live and hung on way longer than he should have. He the total TLC. He pretty much was always held and snuggled. We did whatever to ease his pain and show him love. Sorry, rambling and remembering... Last edited by lily's mom; 04-14-2005 at 08:52 PM. |
