Donating YT 2000 Club Member | First heat--hints??? Abbi is into her 1st heat....her breeding partner and my other male dog have told me loud and clear. What advice do you have for everyone's survival for the next 3 weeks? This is the first time I've had an unaltered male with a female that is not ready to be bred this heat. |

| I don't have much advice except to try to keep them apart and make sure your boy has a belly band on and that it is on good. Maybe someone else will be able to give you more advice...

| I would say a belly band for him and diapers for her, if they are going to be in the same house. I wouldn't leave them unsupervised either. I will be going through this twice in the next 3 - 6 months so I'm thinking I am going to get my daughter to babysit one of them for me. |

| Where does one buy "diaper" pants for yorkies? I have seen "hot pants" in catalogs but they are no where near small enough for a yorkie. I would be afraid of just using a newborn disposable without a covering because Mayzie would just chew it up. Just curious.

I ordered diapers from www.barkindogclothes.com and just put panty liners in them, but i also used the normal newborn XS disposables and they work great.... just cut a hole for the tail.

| The YTCA country store also has them VERY reasonably priced actually the cheapest i have seen and they are designed with toy dogs in mind.. I would definitly use the ones made for dogs tho. I do not know how well baby diapers would stay on and you don't want an accident. Good Luck! |

| The best way to avoid accidents is separating them . |
