| ACHC Registration?? I recently was doing research on APRI and found out that alot of breeders that have their dogs registered with APRI also had dogs that were registered under ACHC American Canine Hybrid Club. I have never heard of this so it was a bit of shock to me. Any thoughts or opinions on this?????

| Not really sure what your asking. achc is for registration of crossbreeds like morkies and yorktese, etc. - apri doesn't allow registration of crossbreeds |

| The papers would indicate it as a hybrid or crossbreed not a purebred. They acknowledge Yorktese, Yorkipoos, Maltipoos, etc. as being a distinct breed. I'm like you I don't see any need for this type of registry, but these 'designer pups' are bringing high prices. I guess it might make a person pay more and feel they were getting something more special than a 'mutt'. It also might help to prove that say a Yorktese has only Yorkie and Maltese in its bloodlines and not Yorkie, chihuahua, beagle, maltese, poodle, etc. Who knows maybe one of these days some of these hybrids will be accepted as 'purebreeds' since all dog breeds originally started as a wolf. |
