| Chelsey's big brother was attacked Yesterday afternoon we decided to go for a doggy picnic with the dogs by the waterside, it was nice weather so we took some aquatoys for the Dounia to swim... we were having a ball with them Chelsey was running around like a wind up toy, Dounia was swimming and Bonja our retired boxer of 9 was just laying on a blankie with us enjoying the sun... he is such a darling with these 2 little puppy monsters they can do anything to him, at times i have to stop them coz they will keep on jumping on him and he just allows them, but he is old and has athritise in hes knees so i dont want them to bother him all the time. so there we sitting peacefully enjoying the fresh air and the next thing there comes another lab to us and i still said to my husband who was with me thank god, he will probably go in the water too, but mister mucho decided to chase Dounia and all he was wanting to do is hump her and throwing her down so my husband got up to chase the dog away but he wouldnt go, i looked around for the owner but she didnt come near us of 100 meter, my boxer got up and this friggin lab attacked him, threw him down and bit him badly, i didnt know how fast i had to jump up, i pulled that dog off him and told him to go! but he wouldnt and insisted to chase after Dounia that the next thing, Chelsey comes and stands by me and this dog started growling at her... well ppl to my disgust i hit the daylights out of him... i was mad yes very very angry when he attacked my boxer but when he started on Chelsey i was white hot and lost myself there for a few, i cant remember what i did, but my husband recalled it all and told me afterwards that i wasnt a pretty site and very unladylike lol... but he also was waiting for the dog to growl at me, thank god the dog didnt coz my husband would have turned his lights out for him... so i kicked mister mucho in the balls and waiting for the owner to come to me, i stood there looking at her while another lady walked past and said that that dog acts like that every time and he is trouble... so my husband walked towards the owner, but she quickly turned around and walked away... i felt SO sorry for my boxer i was close to tears, he cant fight back anymore we took him to the vet and he said that he was shook up, gave him some meds and sent us off.... he seems ok this morning but looking very sad, hes eyes are droopy and hes just laying here next to me. i cant ever remember getting this mad, maybe im too protective but when it comes to those i love they will be left unharmed.... my boxer has had a very hard time in his life, we are his forth owners and we know that he has been beaten up lots in his younger years and we want to give him extra loving time and make it up to him. well... thats the first time ive ever hit a dog and i hope it was the last time! but i dont know what ill do if i meet that dog again im sorry for the long post but i thought the incident would have cleared in my mind by this morning, but it didnt... am still angry... i had to spill the beans.

| I'm so sorry to hear about the attack. That stupid lab! And that stupid owner too! If that lab is trouble (according to the lady that walked by), then why doesn't the owner keep it on a leash?? That's so irresponsible! I'm glad that you are such a loving and protective owner of your boxer. All your dogs are very lucky to have you!

| Good for you! The Lab has probably been mistreated to be aggressive like that! Our Lab is the absolute sweetest thing! She is precious around the little yorkies and children too! She does HATE the Fed Ex truck and the mailman though. Makes me wonder if she was abused by one of them when she was young (before we rescued her. Anyway, I'm glad you didn't get hurt! |

| I have no idea why she doesnt keep him on the leash, im still so upset that i just called a friend and told her about it and she reckons the dog might be abnormal, even so... its like some ppl i know with their kids, they think they are angels and never do anything wrong, they dont WANT to see the flaws of their kids and it obviously goes the same for their dogs they think they so perfect... my goodness i want to know what my dogs mistakes are so i can correct them as i correct my son of 13.... the way i feel now, if his owner is anything like that dog, she ll be sorry to meet me the next time i love my dogs dearly, they cant fend for themselves, Dounia is still to young... she didnt quite know what was going on, but she came to help me while i was holding on to that dogs ear for dear life and she barked at him lol This is the first bad experience ive had with other dogs I dont know where i got the strength from to pull him off my boxer, he was huge! Poor Chelsey stood by my feet and got grawled at... but oh my, i dont think he would have seen today if he had bitten her

Eensor, thats what puzzles me, i know that labs usually are very gentle, Dounia is a lab and she tollorates everything the only thing shes scared of is ppl that are dressed unusually and long skirts and she doesnt like caps and faces covered, shes precious. i never expected this coming from a lab, but it just goes to show.

| I'm sorry to hear your poor baby boxer was attacked. That does puzzle me as well, my aunt has a lab and he is as sweet as the day is long...big dog, but sweet as all...we call him a "gentle giant!" Wow, I feel bad for the lab too, he's probably been raised to be aggressive-I blame all on the stupid owner! I hope your pooch feels better real soon. Louie sends him kisses!

| Chelsey, you did the right thing and the only thing you could. Don't berate yourself for what you did. I once had to pull a dog off my Schnauzer. It's a terrifying experience because the dogs are INTENT on what they are doing and yelling doesn't work. Woody ended up with a torn bloody ear. The dog was finally picked up by animal control. It was a stray that had wondered into our neighborhood. You did the only thing you could to get that dog off your boxer. I'm sorry your baby got hurt. Bo sends kisses!

| I'm sorry to hear about the attack on Bonja. I'm glad he is all right. If she knew her lab can be aggressive to other dogs she should never have left her dog off leash. I think you should make her pay for Bonja's vet bill. Thank goodness that lab didn't get a hold of Chelsey and Dounia. That lab could of caused a lot of damage or even kill your little ones. Next time when you are at the park be very careful! I have a feeling she isn't going to watch her dog so you will have to be more careful with yours. |

| I'm so sorry to hear about this...I pray for a speedy recovery. Now this may come off tacky, but I guess it’s just me. If I was in that situation and the owner just stood there watching all this happen and not do anything about her dog. She and I would have had some words. I would try to be a lady, but that would just piss me off. The reason I say that, is because what if a human was to get hurt by this dog, what if there were children that got hurt. I know that labs usually don’t act this way. I have a friend that owns 2. I was watching the news the other day, and I can't remember if it's just here in Texas or all over, but if a dog attacks a human; the owner will not only be fined, but will do 10 years in prison if found guilty. Errrrrrr! Some people!

| my uncle once beat our neighbors pit bull with a bseball bat........ the dog had attacked his lab (came into our yard to attack him ).... anyways, what im getting at is... you didnt do anything unreasonable... you are a much nicer person than i am, i would have called the police and had the woman cited (i dont know where you live, maybe the laws are different.... but EVERYWHERE here a dog needs to be on a leash) |

| I don't blame you in the least for being upset or your action. It's such crap that people don't take dog ownership seriously (some people anyway) and just let their dogs do things like this. Poor baby.

| Thanx for all the puppy kisses and best wishes Bonja recieved them all and he gave me a wink and sends hugs, he is looking a lot better, he just doesnt want to leave me out of hes sight and all he wants is to be with me, he didnt feel like going for a nice walk so we took a short cut.... Taje, ur right with the saying "seeing red" girl, i was white hot and blanc for a few, my shoulders hurt today i think from pulling the lab off and beating him lol oh i will be on the look out for that woman, i have never in my life been this mad, here in Holland dogs are allowed to run loose in certain parks IF they are behaved and NOT vicious to ppl or other dogs.
