| Rabies Shot Lacey got her's today. I have heard some bad things about them before, and I was just wondering if you all think she will be ok? and do you know of somethings I should be looking for to signal she not? I didn't even want her to get the shot but, my vet said that she should have it.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i don't know the law down in georgia but in NJ every dog needs a rabies shot. Most little puppies can't handle having more then one shot a visit, so if your vet gave the pup a distemper and a rabies then your pup might get really tired today. Its normal for them to be tired after a vaccines because they weigh less then 5 lbs, but if you noticed excessive lethargy, not eating/drinking, not wanting to go outside, and/or vomiting/diarrhea then i'd call the vet. lethargy and not eating, if it does occur should go away by dinner time tonight and definately by breakfast tomorrow. if these still occur tomorrow morning and the pup doesn't want to eat then call the vet |

| How old is she?? I wait as long as possible before giving Rabies and when the vaccination is given I don't do it when they are getting any other vaccinations because it has made a couple of mine uncomfortable as well. Poor little girl..

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | teh vet should have just given her the distemper today and then waited another month to give the rabies. he could have given teh rabies on the same day the pup was spayed. it makes it easier |

| Rabies shots are a "must." When my dog was due for his rabies shot, we just went to the vet's office and got it --with no problems whatsoever. Carol Jean |

| Mackenzie had her rabies and a distemper shot when she was a little over 4 months old and she was 2.3lbs. She was little bit sleepy and achey, but by the next day she was fine. I think it should be fine unless there was some sort of allergic reaction to the shots... Just like when human babies get their shots, they are usually cranky too ...I hope lacey is feeling better soon

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | glad to hear she is doing better today. In the future, when she needs to get more then one shot in a day ask them to hold off and only do one because it makes her really lethargic. |
