| Belly Bands?? I know it sounds crazy, but what are belly bands? will this help in potty training? I have never heard of this before. How much do they costs and where do you get them?

| I am curious too. Should I keep my new puppy (I get Annabelle it 2 weeks!) in a diaper when I have her out of her area? I don't want her to have any accidents on the carpet... |

| Here's an explanation! This is from our YT friend Jodi at ChloeBella.com "Belly bands are a diaper for male dogs. They are an excellent tool for potty training, keeping furniture from being ruined by males that mark and older males with incontinence problems. Belly bands wrap around the waist and hold an absorbent pad that you attach and change throughout the day." | I got mine at Petsmart for about 12.00, . It's with the puppy training pads and it's made out of a jean material. They have the bands for boys and the diapers for girls (a little more expensive). |

| Here is a few pics of the material I have on hand. I use the wide velcro closures. |

| If you're any good at sewing, they are easy to make. I use cotton material. Measure around the waist area where their pee pee is. Make it double sided. Put some velcro on the ends. Buy some panti liners or regular pads cut them in half. Stick them to it. Wah Lah, you've got yourself a belly band.

| I use washclothes (have a couple dozen - they just go into the laundry with the rest of my stuff) - fold diagonally - wrap around waist - and pin with a diaper pin. (I don't use absorbent pads - just check my pup often - and change them if they are the slightest bit wet). My pup is really doing well - never would use potty pads - ripped them up in 10 minutes. But - summer is here and if I take him out every two hours - he never pee's in the house. He also goes all night without peeing - and doesn't pee most of the time when I'm at work (6 to 7 hours). But - I still use belly bands. 1) If I take him visiting - don't want him peeing on anyone's carpet. 2) Overnight - but he's almost always dry in the morning. 3) If I'm busy and may not get him out every two hours... So - we're doing much much better here! Carol Jean |

| Sorry, I didn't understand. Yes, they can go #2 with out a problem so you have to watch them. The bands are still useful because they urinate and mark more frequently than defecate. The urine soaks into your carpet and leaves a lingering odor. Usually #2 is an easy cleanup that does not harm your carpet. |
