| Humiliated at Target Sully and I were out shopping the other day....as usual, with Sully in his bag, of course (he loves riding in his bag!) We don't go into Target often, but this time we did b/c I wanted to check out the doggie section and try on a few swimsuits for me. The swimsuits were right inside the front door, so I grabbed a few and headed to the dressing room first. When I exited the dressing room, a store clerk pointed me out to a store manager who was standing there with a grimace on his face. He turned to me and said "Ma'am, you have to take your dog out of this store right now." Mind you, I was still trying things on and didn't even have shoes on. I asked him if I could finish trying on the lot I'd taken into the dressing room and he shook his head no. After putting my shoes back on, the manager tried to grab my wrist to escort me out of the store! I jerked my hand away. (I've been 100% cooperative when he asked me to leave, why did he feel the need to use force?) About ten steps toward the exit, my shoe becomes untied, so I kneel down to re-tie it, and the manager stops with me. Then I stand up and he walks forward when I walk forward. Then I just stopped for the heck of it - and he stopped too. I looked at him and said "is this an I-stop-you-stop-thing?" and he said "yes ma'am, it is." He was walking within two feet from me! I like more distance between myself and strangers, thank you! Actually if I were walking with my husband I'd like at LEAST that much space. When I moved towards the righthand side of the aisle to make more space between me and The Jerk, he would also veer right to close in the gap. (Like I'd run for it and try to escape or something?) When we got to the front of the store, he pointed at the door (as if I didn't know which door took me out of the store!) I thought Target was dog-friendly? I've taken him there several times before, and in other Targets :-( I've been asked to leave places with Sully before. I'm a big girl, and I can handle it. But being escorted out like I'm a criminal? It was HUMILIATING!!!!!!!

| Good grief Val...that is just ridiculous how you were treated! I wouldn't have taken too kindly to the arm grabbing thing either. What a JERK! |

| What a jerk! DEFINITELY call their corporate office!! Report him ASAP. Tell them you won't hesitate to sue for assault and throw in some emotional duress. Call a local news station. That was totally uncalled for, him grabbing your wrist! You could also call your local police and report that as an assault.

| That's horrible. My Target story isn't so bad. I was just asked if Maggie was a service animal and I promptly said "yes, she's my smelling nose dog, she helps me find All the good deals". Well the lady didn't think that was very funny and told me I had to leave. Whats the big deal about a 3 lb. dog in a store? I see tons of people that are way dirtier, and make a whole lot more noise than my little princess would ever even consider. what about some of thoses naughty children that are screeming and running down the aisles, why don't they ask them to leave.

Call the Target you were just at.....ask them their store manager's name. Normally they'll give it to you, no questions asked.

| I would still make a compliant even if they do have a no dog rule. You can play dumb and say you did not know their policy on small purse size dogs if they question you. Plus, he had no right grabbing you or treating you the way he did. |

| I would think it's worth doing anyhow. Quote:
Even without knowing the person's name, you could name the time of the incident and a brief physical description, and the people in charge will know who he is. If he acts like this with all people that "break the rules", the persons in charge need to know that he is giving Target a BAD NAME, and losing them current and future customers. Hit them in the purse, Val. That's where it really hurts'em!! I am so sorry that happened to you, Sweetie. That sucks.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | There was a similiar post in the last couple of weeks with a similar situation at Target. It's not the asking to leave that is so upsetting it is the way the exit is being handled by Target staff. Just not the right way to handle it.

And your agrument about children, I AGREE 10000%!!! I mean, what the heck, kids can get sick all over the floor, knock down racks, run and scream, etc.....but my little Sully sleeps in his bag the whole time and I have to leave b/c of it? It doesn't make sense!!!
