| ears don't stand up on my new yorkie? Can anyone give advice why just one of the ears on my new pup head doesn't stand up. The dog is about 16 weeks old? |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Are the pup's ears tipped? You can start by massaging but then you might want to go ahead and tape the ear to the standing position.

| Some yorkies are like this- their ears are heavier and can't stand up- I think this tends to be the case with larger Yorkies- a yorkie with propped up ears is only marginally better than those with folded ears- I have a small toy yorkie and his ears look unusually large for this head (they stand up)- he looks funny sometimes. Hope this helps, Vikkie & Casper x |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | when you got him/her were the ears standing up? Kloey has larger ears and hers stands up, I have never had to tape then, but the did fall and it was due to her teething, so this may be the case for you as well. Don't worry, I'm sure it will pop back up! |

| All yorkie's ears stand up at a different time. Chances are if one ear is up, the other one will go up. My boy was like this, after awhile his second ear went up and has stayed up. I would try shaving and taping the ear to get it to stand up. Good news is that it is not too late for the ears to go up. I know some people who had yorkies and their ears went up at six months. I have never heard of them going up after that. So you still got some time.....

| Here's a picture of my partner's dad's Yorkie, Chloé- her ears are folded over and pretty much always have been- not sure about when she was a puppy though. Vix xxx |

| Adrianna's ears were up at 7 weeks of age when I went to visit her. 2 weeks later, they were down. When I got her on April 1st, they were semi up. Now, at 3 months, they are standing up perfectly. Thankfully I didn't have to tape them (I was so scared I'd rip all her hair out!), but I did massage them when I first got her. I guess it helped.

| I've also heard that one or both of a pup's ears can drop while they are teething but that they likely will pop back up. Floppy ears are too cute though!

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | When we got Jill a couple of weeks ago her ears were standing. About three days later they started to droop. I searched YT for guidance and here is what was recommended. Shave the outside of the ear about half way up. Fold the ear in half vertically and tape with masking tape. We did this for about 3 days. Removed the tape and they have been standing for 5 days now. Got my fingers crossed! Good luck!

| When I got Biscuit at nine months he had one ear that did not stand. I started him on chicken livers, one every other day and a high protein food and within a week they were both up and stayed up. I also tipped the ears which I think did the most good. Looking back on his older pics, I think he was just adorable with one ear up, one down. The expression was priceless!!

| 16 weeks is young, theres a chance they will go up. Did you have your Vet health check yet? If not, they can show you how to tape them, but they might go up on their own. We would love for you to post a picture Again, Welcome to YT, I'm sure you will enjoy this site
