Don't leave home without them I am curious how many of you take your yorkies with you whenever possible and I am curious where some of you take your yorkies. I would love to take Mandi everywhere with me. I'm afraid of getting in trouble for bringing a dog and afraid she will bark. When we go over to friends houses I would like to bring her too, just don't know if everyone would be that happy with it as me. |
I take Jewels places with me because she is small and can fit in a carrier. I dont take Chachi because he is bigger and he barks. Jewels is good a s long as she is in the carrier. We dont have alot of places that are dog friendly but i take her to the places that are. |
I personally only take my yorkie two places withme the vets and petsmart there are no other locations around here that allow pets and its more of a hassle to take her then fun. I have a 2 1/2 yr old daughter and am due to have my second daughter in 4 weeks so with them myself and a yorkie that would just be impossible. I love my Hannah bell but I think dogs are better left at home so that they can run and play untill I return, plus I love how excited she gets to see me. I don't allow my freinds to ever bring there dogs to my house alot of my friends dogs are not completly potty trained and I am a clean freak so I would be extremly mad if one pottied in my house, also alot of there dogs shed bad (not all are yorkie owners) and I don't like dirt and hair in my house around my children. On top of that I make sure my yorkies are trained very well and most of my friends dogs will go outside and dig in my yard and jump on my screens, I am very picky and I just like my own dogs at my home. I like things put in there place and clean and being young we are only 24 alot of our friends don't have the same mentality as I do. But there are some people who enjoy the company of others pets and love to tote there doggie around. Another problem I have with that is I also have a great dane and shes to big to go everywhere and if I took one and left out the other I would feel like a bad parent LOL! |

With a toddler and being pregnant I guess I wouldn't try to take mine with me either. It does sound like you are very mature and responsible about your dogs. |
We don't go too many places where both of us go. My husband usually stays home with them. We have one set of friends that we do take them too because they have a dog also and we want them to learn to get along. I always take them when we go out of town to any of my childrens homes. If we travel to visit other relatives this summer, we will take them also. If we stay at their homes the dogs will sleep in their crate. |
Artie goes everywhere....as much as possible? My 2 yr. old male, Artie goes everywhere......when ever possible? I generally take him with me to Shopping Malls, TJ. MAXX, Ross, Marshall's, Pier 1, Home Depot, Loews. All outdoor Restuarants especially in Carmel, CA. The whole town is "Pet Friendly"! But definetly not Walmart, Target or any Grocery & convenient stores. He is rather large @ 10.5 lbs., he is not in a carrier, I carry him in plain view and most of the sales people know him since I shop there frequently. But my 1 yr. old female Abigail, has gone with me......but she just keeps whining and wants to be held constantly! So she stays @ home while we go shopping. Artie loves it though! I have taken him on planes in major crowded airports, if I have any appointments with client's I take him with me too. If I can I usually do. I have only had one person complain against me, she claimed she had allergies and the sales person told her not to go near him that she had a choice. Most of the time I don't have any problems b/c he is very well behaved and trained to go "Shopping" he just lays in the shopping cart. :aimeeyork |
Princess is always with me. If we go shopping to the Mall, she's in her stroller. She loves to go for rides in the car, sometimes we just take off and go for a nice long ride down the coast. She loves her car seat, she can see everything I see. :) We take the kids to & from School everyday. If she hears me pick up my keys, she's at the door before I am. :) |
Chester goes most places with me, he goes to all of my friends house, office depot, gijoes, bet bath and beyond, the honda dealership they love him and the place where I get tires for my car. The place that have food products are a no no thats for sure, target, and walmart are no nos. |
I'm sooo fortunate that I am able to take Oscar most places I go. He comes to work with me everyday (I have an expen set up for him at work identical to his one at home), I take him to the mall, run errands, everything! He's pretty tiny and I got a great puppy bag to tote him around in so most people dont even notice he's with me - even with his head popping out the top of the bag peeking around. It also helps that he doesn't bark - ever. If I go into a place where I'm unsure of how his presence will be taken, I zip up the openings and NO one knows he's there - but he can still lay down and look out the three meshy sides.... People can't complain about what they can't see.... |
We take the girls as many places as possible. They love to get to go and see they are home by themselves during the day while I have classes, we like them to be able to go with us. They go shopping with us all the time, everywhere except for any places that sell food, Walmart, Target, and grocery store. Sometimes we take them in their carriers, but usually we just carry them, we have never been kicked out of anywhere, so far!! LOL |
Other than a friend's house or maybe PetSmart now and then, I don't take mine anywhere really...just my choice.:) |
i want to take romeo everywhere. he luvs the car and shopping. we go to pet stores, home depot, lowes, craft stores, bank, independantly owned stores almost everywhere. i feel guilty when i leave him home to go to work. i wish i had a dog friendly job. |
The magic word for Mitzi is "bye-bye". She loves to ride in the car and look out the window. Even when we moved across the whole country (CA to MD) she never got tired of it and was the first at the truck in the morning. We take her whenever possible and go only to hotels which allow pets. We always have her expen with us and she knows she will be alone when we tell her "you have to stay and be good". When my husband leaves for work he has to tell her that too otherwise she is looking for him all day all around the house (I'm a stay-at-home-Yorkie-mom).:aimeeyork |
