Donating YT 1000 Club Member | At What Age Does Yorkie Hair Change Color? At what age do yorkie puppy's change color. My little Jill is 12 weeks and on the top of her head you can see the roots coming out grey. Both her parents are blue/grey in color so I am sure she is destined to be that as well. I look at her hair on other parts and the outgrowth is still black. I just don't know at what age the color starts to change. Just curious. Thanks for the info.

| Here are four pictures of Sully's coloring as it changed. The first picture was when he was 10 weeks old. The second picture is when he was eight months old. The third picture was (sixe months after the second pic) when he was 15 months old. The fourth picture was taken last week. Sully is now one year and eight months old. And if I could take a good picture of his roots, you could see his color changing AGAIN! I know not all yorkies change as much as Sully has so maybe I just have chamelion yorkie, haha!!! Who knows? He is all yorkie, though. I love watching him grow and change colors, etc. It's fun! I love this blonde coloring though and wouldn't mind it staying around.

| My Yorkie was quite silver/black and a light tan by the time he was four months old. At 8 weeks, he had silver coming through on his head - and I could see silver roots on his body coming out at that time. Isn't PassionFruit's dog beautiful!!!!! Carol Jean |

| Chanel had grey coming through on her head & face at 8 weeks, she's turned out to be a very light girl. Chelsey started getting grey roots at 12 weeks, she's a little darker. Here's a pic of them, they are both 1 year old, hope this helps.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Thank you all. I feel better now. I just wasn't sure when the change starts. But know I know Jill is on track. I fully expect her to change totally because her parents were very light. She's normal. Jack is black and tan/red and shows no signs of changing at his age so I suspect he will not. Again, thank you!
