| T-ball Yorkies My son had his first T-ball game on Saturday. I was finally feeling better after being sick for what seems like forever and decided that Tia and I should go with my daughter to watch. We had to leave Sandy at home because she is not good around other peoples' children (poor baby ) Anyway, two of the Mom's from Drew's teams have Yorkies and had brought them along too - then another lady from another team brought hers' over as well! Poor Tia was the only little girl among them, and one of the little boys (Bruiser!) kept trying to mount up. I kept separating them, but I was surprised that Tia just hunched down and was ready to let him do his thing. Anyway, I thought it was really cool that there were so many other Yorkies there and was having a great time until they started talking to me about breeding. I guess Bruisers Mom is planning on breeding him, and then, of course, they asked me if I was planning to breed Tia. I told them, no, I have no experience and Tia's ears are floppy so she's not a good example of the breed. What got to me was that they kind of tried to convince me to go ahead and do it "Oh, well you're not going to show her so it doesn't matter anyway --- they'll only be pets...etc" It caught me off guard and made me feel uncomfortable, I never thought I would have to defend my right NOT to breed my dog - weird. Anyway - it did get me to thinking about breeding. NOT with Tia and not for years down the road, hopefully after I get involved in the show world. After having read some things about it, I've decided I'm going to do more research to see if it's something I may be interested in. -- so that's different for me, I never thought it would be something I'd even consider, but I'm researching it to see at this point. All my posts are so long and drawn out - sorry! Just thought I'd share our little Yorkie meetup and the resulting issues.

| I know how you feel aimee. Whenever Im out with my shepherd people ask me to stud him out. I always tell them no its in my contract to breed only with the original breeder (not true) but it stops the constant nagging in its tracks. lol It does get aggravating though cause people dont understand you dont just breed any two dogs together without making sure there are no bad traits being passed and without knowing whats involved in breeding. I dont know about breeding but I do know enough to do my research. If thats one thing I learned here on yt is RESEARCH LOL SUE |

| That must have been so cute seeing all the little yorkies together, but poor little Tia...you tell Bruiser I said to leave her alone. I suppose Tia didn't know just what to think about Bruiser's behavior. Tia is such a doll! |

| i know how some ppl can agrivate others and try to force them or talk them into doing something they dont want to do. ive had a few embarressing moments when we go somewhere and Chelsey gets handed from arms to arms everybody wants to hold and kiss her, i dont have the guts to say much but my husband does and he doesnt like it when they start giving Chelsey to the kids to hold and says now thats enough thank you shes not a toy and shes tired now so she is now going to mommy for a sleep, he says it in a way where i feel the "silence" i try to tell them in a subtle way but my husband tells them what he thinks and isnt bothered what they think or say when i ask him afterwards what that was all about he says.... some ppl dont understand nice talk. shes a real daddy's little girl, she wouldnt come to me when i came downstairs this morning, my husband had to go up to fetch her

| Tell Bruiser that Yorkies-of-the-month like Tia are not to be treated that way... Poor Sandy...I bet some some children were mean to her before you got her...
