Silver puppies? Hi, I am new to this sight but I am hoping to get some information from some Yorkie enthusiasts! My family and I are looking at a little of 1 day old Yorkie puppies. 4 females and 1 male. They are all gorgeous but two of the females are very light silver and the rest are the black Dobie look. While they are adorable I am wondering if they will change color when older? Has anyone seen this? Any info is appreciated.

some of the other breeders can be of more help, but youre description is a little vague,..... do you mean TOTALLY light silver???? because there is a genetic disorder that brings about "blue puppies" ive never seen it but ive heard about it

silver I would not buy the light ones..it is okay to go a silvery blue as adults, but you may be looking at many hidden health concerns in the future...I would pick a black and tan.

this blue puppy genetic thing is supposed to be fatal in most cases, i think they lose their hair and the skin becomes sort of leathery

Please email me the pics! I have never seen an all silver Yorkie puppy. Cookie was about 12 weeks old before I noticed any silver on his scalp growing at all. Genie genierosado@earthlink.com www.littlemimi.org

I have pics of a blue born Yorkie. I saw her when she was 2 hours old and took pics then. Unfortunately a fried computer destroyed them but I do have pics of her as adult. The hair that is tan/gold grows normally on ear fringe, legs and facial furnishings. The blue hair grows to about a 1/2 inch and breaks. It feels and looks like a very fine grade of steel wool. No hair on her ears and very little on her back. She has skin much like a crested and has to have sunscreen, usually 30-45, on her ears. She is way too fat now but otherwise has no more health problems than a standard color one. Both YorkieRose and I have talked and e-mailed about this little girl whosename is Jillian. I will e-mail it to someone who can post on the thread. I have neither the skills or patience to learn to post..If it ain't instant gratification it won't get learned by me. I am a lazy computer person.. Let me know who wants the pics and post an e-mail addy so I can send to you
