| Karo syrup or Nutrical I have read on a lot of posts that nearly everyone uses Nutrical and Karo syrup.I think it would be good for me to keep some in the house,just incase.I was wondering where you can buy these from? i live in England and have been to pet shops,super market,but had no luck! can you only get them from the vet?Also if anyone has any other useful foods or syrups,please post it along with what it is used for,thanks |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Karo or Nutrical The Nutrical can be found in any pet supply store or any store like walmart, kmart or target that has a pet isle. The Karo syrup is in every grocery store near the sweetners and baking goods. I know that in England and the West Indies you can get glucose powder so you can also try that.

| You are welcome! You are smart to look into getting the nutrical you never know when you will need it. I had an episode with Chachi about a month ago had diahrea. He hadnt been eating well anyway and the vet wanted to fast him to get rid of the diahrea. My Husband had me give him some nutrical so his sugar didnt get down. I had a tube left over from when mine were pups. Whenever your dog isnt eating you should give nutrical.

When I went to the airport to pick up Chachi, I took honey packets that I had gotten from Mc Donalds. I had stopped at Petco to get the nutrical and they didn't have any and didn't even seem to know what I was talking about. Last edited by JeanieK; 04-25-2006 at 05:00 PM. | |

| I had trouble getting some too,when my pup was little and wouldn't eat. I tried to get some on-line from Petco, but couldn't import it into NZ for some reason. I found a similar product called Nutrigel on sale at a petshop/vets after an extensive search. It is made in Australia. It worked for us-my pup began to eat more.

| The packs of Honey are a great idea, now I wont throw them away. I used to put them in a cabinet and forget about them. Now I have a use for the packs and I can put some in Jaci's diaper bag. {Yes a diaper bag, I got it in Puerto Rico on my last visit, it is leapord print and all Jaci's stuff goes in it when we take him somewhere and sometimes he climbs in and I carry him to the car}
