| I usually hand wash doggie clothes with liquid detergent in cold water, anything that is really smelly with pee - like belly bands or the girls diapers when they are in heat - I let soak for at least a day in the soapy water. This way the smell goes away (although I probably use too much detergent for the small bucket of water). I haven't really experienced too much shrinkage, although I think it's almost impossible to avoid a little shrinkage when something is cotton. If you are worried about shrinkage, just stretch the clothes out a little bit while they are still wet. Hope this helps!

| [QUOTE=romeos mommy] a lot of his little sweaters and jackets have lots of little nubbies. i experience a shrinking problem tooQUOTE] I have the same problem - clothes shrinking and nubby and color fading. I was washing on delicate in the machine, but recently I started handwashing. All I can figure is that the stuff from the pet store wasn't made for frequent washing. It sure is frustrating.

| I washed Reuger's sweaters with my own sweaters on a gentle cycle in the washing machine in cold water. Then I let them air dry. Always wash in cold water if you don't want something to shrink.
