| I need some advice with getting my husband convinced! I want a girl yorkie so bad!! Does anyone seriously have some real good advice in convining my husband to let me get another one. I currently have 2 dogs a beagle(Haggis) and Starsky. I want another yorkie and my husband won't let me have more than 2 dogs. Haggis really is my son's dog who is in college right now and probably won't ever take Haggis away because I don't think Haggis would be happy to leave here. He has been here all his life. So anyway if you have any good suggestions, let me know!!

| All I can say is the joy of 2 Yorkies is double the fun! Rex and Rowdy keep each other company - I think it is way easier with 2 than with just Rowdy and we have an older schnauzer so it wasn't like Rowdy was all alone at all. They play together, sleep together, eat together - I just know that each is much happier with the other! It's a no brainer!!!

| I agree about the begging and pleading. It is hard to say no to the woman you love. I begged and pleaded with my boyfriend and then he brought Lola home for my birthday I would say "Gee our life would be perfect if we only had a dog!" A little manipulation goes a long way! Good Luck!

I'll tell you what's always worked for me... "Forgiveness is better than Permission". Get your baby, what's he gonna do? Divorce you? It's worked for me when my number was set at THREE (hahahahahah) I have seven adults (6 yorkies, 1 cocker) and 2 puppies that will be staying (1 for sale)...hubby still loves me! LOL

| i'm in the same boat... i whined and i pouted until i got my first one 'cause he started out with "no dogs allowed!!!". how he just loves bunjee... but when i mentioned wanting another he's like... only 1 dog allowed!!! i may whine and pout again... but it's a gradual process and it takes too long. i like the "forgiveness is better than permission" idea. |

| I am trying to get another yorkie as well. I already have 2 toy poodles and 1 yorkie. He would have none of it. I cannot have any more children so after he told me no a couple of times I asked if we could adopt a baby. He said I could have another yorkie. I am now on a breeders list for one. Yorkies are expensive, but they don't need cars and a college education. Good luck!!! I know how hard it is to pine for one. My yorkie is my baby and the toy poodles are her pets!! |

| YES!!!!!!!! Print out the Pictures of Pixie in the Dress that Starsky bought her for Valentines Day! Tell him how much fun you had picking it out and how excited you were to see the pictures!!! Then hang them on the fridge, the bathroom mirror... the car window, the computer screen, and everywhere else!!! Put cute saying's on them..... like.... "Not sure what to get Mom for Mother's Day???" or "Look no further, your mother's Day shopping is Done!" how about.... "Does Mom really want Breakfast in Bed??? or would a Yorkie in Bed be a better Gift??" or "Yorkies, the gift that keeps on giving!" If all else fails.... Beg... if that does not do it... Cry! Then break out the big guns!!!!! ask him this.... "You want me to be happy .... don't you?" You'll get your girl!!! You and Starsky shop so well for girls not to have one!!!! I'll have to break the news to Pixie... she won't be happy to hear this... She was planning on running off to marry Starsky! C'mon... Big red lips?? Bully treats?? Way to lead a girl on!!!

| My husband is a "big dog" person. He always told me that he does not like little dogs and that he would never get a little dog. But, we when we got married, we didn't have a back yard and we really really wanted a dog. So, we compromised. He said that we could get a little dog if and only if it was a boy...AND I was not allowed to put his hair up or dress him in clothes. So, of course I agreed. So, now we have Hobbs, who is almost 7 months old. I loved Hobbs so much that I really wanted another one...and I wanted a girl!! Hobbs is so hyper and he would really enjoy a playmate. My husband really gets jealous because Hobbs definately like me the most, mainly because I am the one that really takes care of him. SO, I convinced my husband by saying: 1. that boy dogs like women and girl dogs like men, and that if we got a girl, then Hobbs could be "mine" and the girl dog would be "his." hehehehe 2. The cost would be practically the same as having 1...we have all the toys, treats, food, etc. All we would have to pay for is vet bills. 3. We wouldn't have to entertain Hobbs as much because he would have a friend. 4. I promised my husband that I would not dress up the girl dog. I think sometimes that men have a problem with yorkies being too "girly" or something. So, I agreed not to dress our dogs up. But sometimes I do anyway. hehehe If all else fails, I would definately get one anyway. Get it for Mother's Day and say it is a Mother's day gift to yourself. He would be mad for maybe a minute, then love it. |
