| Okay girls (and guys) I need some brainstorming... I really really REALLY wanna get another yorkie. My husband, who was originally hesitant about getting bunjee to start but now loves him to pieces, is concerned that it's just going to be more work with 2 dogs instead of 1. (as if he does anything else other than play with bunjee but that's besides the point. ) so the brainstorming I need is... reasons to get a second yorkie! the reasoning need to be logical, not necessarily emotional reasoning. (yeah, the pringle analogy won't work on him). some input from those with multiple yorkies at home would be great! how was it with one doggie vs. 2 doggies? what kind of difficulties do you experience with multiple dogs at home? or when going out? TIA! |

| Reason no 1 They would have each other to play with and would then not need your hubby to play

| Yes, your husband would have more ALONE time with you if there's a buddy for Bunjee! When you do go out, they won't be home alone, and they can keep each other company, occupied, and have mischievous fun together. If you have free time in your life now to stay at home, getting another one now will be easier than if you have a 9 to 5 job where you won't be home as much. Good luck on convincing him! |

| They would keep each other company when alone. The older one would show the younger what to do-ie toileting, so training wouldn't be so hard the second time. They will enjoy playing with each other. You already have most of the equipment you need,so won't need more than another basket or crate for the second.Walks will be more fun-friends have two yorkies and they gamble along together on walks. Good luck!

| Double the FUN! It is so funny to watch two yorkies play together! And just like humans get lonely when kept to themselves, I believe dogs get lonely for other dogs. I think you should tell him companionship among dogs is a precious thing, and he should seriously consider completing your family! Here, show him this... Might give him incentive!

| We just got our second (Rexy) about a month ago (Rowdy is 14 months old) and OMG it is sooooo much easier with the second one. AND the joy you get watching them play together is just awesome. My husband is sick and doesn't feel good much of the time. Of course, he loves watching Rowdy play and playing with him, but I just can't explain to you the delight of watching 2 little guys doing the cutest things together! It feels like Rexy is potty training himself because he HAS to do everything that Rowdy does. Now, I won't say he never has an accident but they are about 1/10 the accidents Rowdy had. I think the company thing (having 2 to keep each other company when you are gone) cannot be overstated. Yorkies are such social creatures and to have 2 as companions is enriching their lives, probably in ways we really can't fully understand - but I CAN tell you how much it will enrich your lives! You will be saying, "how did we ever get along with just one Yorkie!" Just take it from one who has recently experienced the joys of 2 - IT'S GREAT!!!

| Glad, Villette, you guys are deadly with those cute yorkie dynamic duo pics!!! i just love 'em!!! ooo... the temptation is too hard to resist! i wonder how long will it take for hubby to "just get over it" if i just brought another one home? all of you are right. i just love watching bunjee play with a buddy on playdates. they are always so cute. it would be great to see it everyday! i was wondering. for all you multiple yorkie homes, how it is when it comes to training? do you train them separately? is jealousy an issue when you go from an only yorkie child home to a two yorkie home? |

| Go for 2!!!!!! Luigi used to get soo mad at us when we left, and went into destructive mode al the time! I would come home to find all kinds of paper shredded, he would always escape from his gated area, and always did things to make me mad! Also, he would have seperation anxiety, and would cry and cry when we left. It broke my heart to leave. BUT--when we broght Brasco home, he still would cry when we left, but only for the 1st week or so. Now when we leave, they go lay down together and have each other! I love it! They still may bark every so often, but they don't mind it anymore! Luigi has really calmed down! They love to play with each other, they chase each other! Heck, they love to clean each other!!!! My boys LOVE each other soo much!!!!!! And I don't get as worn out from constantly playing with Weeg! Now Brasco wears him out!!!!! And Luigi is no longer destructive!!! Yayayay! Having 2 or more is great!!!!!! I highly recommend it!!!!! 1st--Look how cute the 2 of them are!!!!!!! 2nd--They love to play togehter!!!! This is sooo much fun for them! Tug o war!!!! 3rd--They are inseperable!!!!! They are never w/o the other!!!! Always together!!!! They eat together, play togehter, and sleep togehter!!!! 4th---Now this is a man who DID NOT WANT any dogs...EVER....Look at how happy Ray is!!!!! He loves his boys!!!!! And he will be even happier when Livvie is home with us!!!! LOLOLOL! He is hooked!!!!!

| I so agree with everyone on having two..Of course I went a little overboard but they really do enjoy having the company. I also feel they free me up to do things because they are playing together and entertaining each other. I also know when I leave the house they have someone to keep them company. I would get the other dog and when your husband says - where did that come from - you look him in the eye and say what are you talking about..what other dog? that is just hunniebunnie moving at the speed of light. When it does come to training my girlfriend has 5 Yorkies and she lines them up and each one does a different trick (shake, roll over, dance, play dead and I can't remember the other one - getting old). She does this every single night and it is a hoot to watch. Treats really get their attention and if you have one trained to sit the other one will learn from them. Some of them do have jealousy issues but I think that is usually when they are older and you will have to make sure that hunniebunnie stays queenpin. Now before you ask the next question. I don't think it matters if you get another little girl or a little boy. Each Yorkie has their own personalities but I have found my little boys seem to be sweeter than my girls but as you can tell from the different members this is not always the case.

| thanks for the tips cindy! i like that... idea... what "other dog"? we still only have one, he just moves a lot faster now. haha. i'm really thinking about various options too. the gender of the new little one doesn't really matter to me. what i'm really concerned about is the temperament. and i do know for certain that i don't want a tiny. bunjee is 7lbs right now at 7months and prefer to have another one that will grow to be between 5-10lbs. i'm also contemplating age... whether to go for a puppy, an older puppy, or an adult yorkie. ooo so many things to consider... but i'm so excited at the same time!!! |
