| Mason sucks his blanket, is this normal? Mason has a habit of dragging his favorite blanket into our laps and loves to suck/bite it whenever he is ready to sleep. He does this for hours and he is a year old. It is cute but I am wondering if he does this for security. Are we not giving him enough attention? What would you guys make of this? |

The texture of the blanket might feel good on his gums, or maybe Mason likes the taste of your laundry detergent, lol. I'm not sure if its something you should lose sleep over, IMO.

| This is too cute. It reminds me of my cat that used to suck its tail while trying to relax before bedtime! I think it is fine and nothing to be worried about. |

| It's soothing and comforting....like a baby sucking its thumb... My friend had a poodle who drug its blanket around for 14 years. It was a tiny little poodle, but it learned to get its blanket anyplace it wanted to go. I think it's sweet! Carol Jean |

| I think that's cute...it also reminds me of a baby sucking a thumb or pacifier. I'd guess it's something that makes him feel good!

| My Tinkerbell has ruined almost every comforter in our house because she used to bite on the blankets and suck on them at the same time and put big holes. But now she just sucks on them and my son will run to me and say Tinkerbell has peed on his bed! BUT she had only been sucking on his blankie again. LOL |

| Awww how cute. It think it's just like a child who has a security blanket or sucks their thumb.

| Bridget had a “blankey” until a few months ago. She’d had it since she was born and the gal I adopted her from at 11 months sent it home with us. Bridget is 21 months now. She used to drag it around everywhere with her and HAD to have it when she slept. She would snuggle up with it and sometimes chew or suck on it. Only recently did she stop going to get it when she sleeps. I think it was a security thing with her and I would never have taken it away, but I sure was glad to finally be rid of the ratty old thing. |

| I'm sure it comes from their memory of nursing and I'm sure that's a happy, soothing memory for them. I wouldn't worry about it, and just appreciate it for its cuteness.
