| Lets hear some good stories of big dogs and our yorkies We are always hearing bad stories of big dogs verses little dogs so I thought some of us could share our good stories. I took tasha and her pups to my dads last week-end and they have two big dogs..one is a rotti and the other is the biggest dog you'd ever see..he is solid white has 3 legs and is HUGE..anyway their names are Cheyenne (rotti) and Moon (big white fluffy 3 legged dog lol) and cheyenne was scared to death of the puppies..tasha didn't know what to think of cheyenne so she bit her on the lip..lol..cheyenne stuck her face to the ground butt up in the air tail just waggin..just beggin tasha to play with her..they romped in the woods with me and had a blast. cheyenne finally decided the puppies weren't going to hurt her lol..and kept taking sticks to them trying to get them to play..it was soo cute..

| What a great idea! My family has always had "big" dogs. My parents have a Newfoundland dog - huge! My brother a boxer, My sister had a rotti now she has a basset and a french bulldog (so not so big) But we have ALL always trained our dogs...and been responsible for them. My dog Boethius, English bulldog, LOVES all other dogs and cats and even our bunny. I know he will do great with Peach when she comes home. And I would love to hear your "good" stories...

| Well as i'm sure most know..last nov. I had a pit bull nikita that passed away..she was a wonderful dog.. We also have a mixed breed dog..she was headed to the pound and my daughter called me..she was with her grandma..and she begged me to have her..that was over 4 years ago..her name is comet and she is Husky, retriever and German shepherd mix. We call her our mama dog because she protects all of our animals..chickens and all when we had them lol..my yorkies love her..they literally give her kisses everytime they see her just like they kiss us..and comet loves the attention..when she's done receiving all the kisses she will lift her head up high so they can't reach her face and tehy give up lol..she has been caught snuggling up in the chicken coop with the chickens with chickens laying on her and beside her..she has been known to snuggle with kittens and cats..she even let a bunny we had once lay with her..i have never seen a dog like her..we have 6 acres and she claims that as her as well as all the property around us lol..our neighbors love her to death..they even buy treats to give to her..she even wooped the fire right out of a wolf dog once because it was trying to attack nikita my pit and my pit was scared to death she just layed there and cryed as the wolf dog attacked her..comet went flying at that dog and wooped it's heind end all the way home lol..i was so proud of her..the wolf dog wasn't trying to really hurt nikita she just was trying to establish dominance only in my yard lol..and comet never really hurt the wolf dog..she just showed her who was boss..I have to say i love all breeds..big and small..all animals for that matter..I would love to hear more stories..

| My Great Dane Annabelle and all my in-laws Great Danes ( 4 of the 6 great Danes they have) like to lay around the fence that my husband and I built for Lucy Too and Tank. Whenever they hear lucy and tank barking when we put them outside to play then all 4 dogs come running over and just lay around the fence.. (it's only like a 20 x 20, it's just temporary till we get the fence built to our door so we can have a doggy door) I don't know if they just enjoy their company or if they think their protecting the little dogs.... We also walk Lucy and tank all over the propery on leashes and all the dogs just follow us wherever we go.... Crystal

| AKITAS & Yorkies Well, one of my most fondest memories is of "Lady" (her japanese name is too hard for most to pronounce, so we gave her a common english name) one of our Akitas and Little Nemo the Yorkie. When Nemo was a pup he would harass Lady (who was a PHENOMINAL akita-RIP) while she was laying down and she'd be very good about letting him think he was tough stuff and if it became too much, she'd stand up-being very careful not to step on him and come over to one of us and just sit and stare at us as to say "Could you control your little pip squeak?". He would really try to get rough too, but w/ all that coat, she could barely feel him I'd imagine. The worst came when he reached sexual maturity and began humping her tail while she was laying down (because it would uncurl when she was really relaxed). And she'd give a low growl at that point and if he wouldn't stop, she'd get up and do the same thing as I mentioned above. Once in awhile Lady would go looking for Nemo just to check in on him, or she would even bring him a toy and see if he was interested in taking the bait. If he did, she could sit there for hours and watch Nemo entertain himself. They were really good together, and despite that, when no one was going to be home, we'd lock Nemo up in his crate in a room-so a door was between the Akitas and his crate, or we'd just take Nemo w/ us (usually the case!). Lady is now gone and there will not be another Akita like her, of that we're sure. Nemo, now that he's older doesn't harass any of the other Akitas. |

| We have a lab and 2 little yorkie girls, lab is 19 months, the girls are 15 months & 13 months. The girls are clearly the boss around here! When they get a treat and the little ones decide they want her treat, she will drop it for them, they do the same with toys, she's got nothing to say lol She feeds them kibble from her dish if they stand next to her while she's eating. They nip her in the nose & ears ... she just looks, whines and comes and cries by me lol At times i have to help her out because the two of them gang up on her awwwww hehehe Here's a pic of my gentle giant

| Goes to show ya... I will ALWAYS raise a Yorkie around a proper large breed adult dog. It really does something positive for their upbringing IMO. And it really does something for me too. Cherish all of those photos!!! And Thank You for your comments on Lady, she was a sweet girl. Nemo missed her for awhile, since his "little" buddy was gone and he couldn't replace her w/ one of the other Akitas, but he's just fine now. And all of our dogs really do get along. When it's "cookie" time- everyone gets one after coming in from doing their business- then Nemo will take his and run under one of our raised chairs so he can get out of the way of the Akitas walking past w/ their cookies-taking them to their perspective "areas". lol It's just so much fun to see them all co-existing and actually enjoying each others company! |

| I have a 75lb boxer named Coco and a 3.5lb Yorkie named Georgie and they are best friends. I firmly believe that it has a lot to do with Coco's personality. Georgie will scratch at her nip at her ears and is very playful. Coco will just lay there with her mouth open and makes sounds like Chewbaca from Starwars we always say she is thinking "Why I aughta." They really do love each other and I think Georgie has made Coco feel alive again (as silly as that sounds). Coco is 6 and normally lays around and sleeps, but now that we have Georgie they run in the yard and play and Georgie does what my boyfriend calls "drive byes" where he runs and gets close to her then runs away. It's very cute here are a couple of pics of them together.
