| Prayer request please Tomorrow is the big day for Hayley and I. We have to be at the vet office at 830 am for spaying and baby teeth extraction. I have put it off until now. She is 8 months old and I know that she will be going into heat nay time so I just want to get it over with. I have cried off and on for 2 days but I trust in God that she will be ok. She is gonna have the sevo flurane gas and the laser spay which is better as to what I have read. Does anyone have any info as to what I can expect from her when I pick her up and then the next few days. I have had big dogs spayed the old fashioned way and never had any problem but this is different this time she is much smaller although she is about 6 lbs which is a good weight, just a very scary thing for me. Will she have external stiches and a big incesion like the reg way or will it be different? please someone give me some info and send lots of prayers my way PLEASE

| Yes, it is scary but she will be fine. It will be much more difficult for you. I am an old lady and I cried in the vet office. how embarrassing. Expect her to be very tired after you pick her up. They will direct you about feeding her and giving her fluids. Do what they say. They may give you some pain meds and sedatives for the first couple days (just in case). After 24 hours she will start to bounce back, then your work starts. Do not allow her to jump on or off of furniture and limit her exercise for 10 days to 2 weeks. Shelby only had internal stiches. I got her one of those onesie things (for infants) so she wouldn't tug or lick her tummy. Best wishes to both of you tomorrow. |

| try not to worry too much my thoughts are with you I got my baby spayed last year and felt the same way you did.I even changed my vet and found one that used Isoflurane because I read that was the safest to use.I cried as I left the vet but they were wonderful she even had 4 teeth taken out and she did fine (I think it was more traumatic for me) ha ha Just plan your day and keep busy.My husband took the day off work and we went out for breakfast and spent the day in town,It kept my mind off things.take care and post how it all goes.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali was spayed last month in an emergency situation while she was in heat. They thought she had a intestinal blockage and they needed to do a liver biopsy. She had a huge scar because of the other issues but even with that she did fine. She was at the er vet for 36 hours and when I got her home she slept a lot for the next few days and then she was fine. With the laser surgery she will probably be in a lot less pain and a small incision. I would ask the vet to call you as soon as she is out of surgery, that's what mine did. Once the surgery is over you can relax until it's time to go get her. Good luck I will say a prayer for both of you.

| Sherry, Your little pup certainly is a good weight (compared to the tiny tiny little ones). If I were you, I'd expect everything to go just fine. My little guy is going in to get neutered within the next few weeks, and I'm not worried at all. You may just be "crying" for no good reason at all. Don't borrow trouble. At a very young age, I learned not to worry about things in advance. I discovered that most of the things I worried about --never happened. Carol Jean |
