| Any TINY yorkie Owners?? Hello All, My yorkie baby, Preston, is 22.5 weeks old and is only 44 oz. He's been the same weight now for 2 weeks. He's VERY small. I'm just wondering if there are any other tiny yorkie owners out there??? I'm nervous Preston isn't going to grow anymore. He's SOOOO tiny and fragile. The breeder said he'd be about 4 lbs. and at the time I didn't realize how small even that was. Do you think he'll grow more??? He sleeps in a crate next to our bed but cries so he can come in bed with us... Do any of you let your tiny yorkies sleep in bed with you? We have two other dogs... 20lbs. & 30lbs. We don't let them play because we're afraid Preston can be seriously injured... Any advice? Thanks so much! Adryana |

| If he's 2.75 lbs @ 22wks I'd imagine that he'll keep growing. He'll at least grow until he's 8mos old. Stewie grew until he was about 10months old, then he leveled off and even lost some baby fat and got some more muscle. Do you plan to stop your other dogs from playing with your Yorkie forever? I would try to socialize and teach them early. They probably have a grasp on how small he is and will be gentle. It's Preston who probably doesn't realize how small he is

| While my Yorks aren't that tiny, I have a 32lb Eskie that loves to play with them. Widget is about 5.5lbs and gets so excited when she sees her big sister that she stands up on her back legs and kisses her! Dublin is 12lbs and can hold his own. The Eskie rolls over on her back and the little ones climb all over her. It's adorable.

| Thank you so much for the replies. Preston has met the other two dogs and you're right HE doesn't know how small he is. He just keeps jumping and jumping on them so they run to try and escape from him! A few times they've come very close to stepping on him! We're hoping he gets a little bigger so that he can play with them everyday |

| I have a little girl, at a whopping 4 lbs. She is VERY social, anyone who's ever met her knows that about Coco. She doesn't care what it is, as long as it's breathing, she will play. I have to be very careful with her because she will just go up to a huge dog to play. But for the most part, I let her, because she enjoys it and I'm always really close by so I can react fast if necessary. I never let her play with strangers big dogs, just people I know, who's dogs I know. Don't let your baby be afraid of his size, let him play and get confidence.

| i also have a teeny little boy [2lbs @ 7 months] who thinks he is a great dane. I know its so easy to be over proctective, i am sooo guilty of that. i do get nervous about him gettin stepped on, or other dogs being too rough, but for the most part the other dogs can somehow sense that they need to be gentle. siri's cousin is a german shepard who is super sweet with him. like Nobella said, i only let him play with dogs i know. i think preston will prob grow a little more, and you will get more comfortable with his size also as time goes by, and so will your other dogs. :] i let siri sleep with me allllll the time, i had originally not wanted to allow it, but i couldnt deal with those cute little wimpers!! i never squish him, and he also lets me know when he wants to get down and all that. best of luck!!

| Of course - all dogs are different - but when I brought my Yorkie home, he probably weighed 3 pounds or so -- and he immediately began to play with my 21-pound Bichon. He literally drove the poor little bichon crazy.....he still does. My Bichon is gentle and sweet - and would never have hurt this little pup in a million years. My sisters have larger dogs (one is huge) that get along very well with my pup (who is about 8 pounds now). I'm sure my one sister's dog weighs 70 or 80 pounds. So - it might be possible for all your dogs to get along very well....regardless of their size. Good luck! Carol Jean |

| One of my dogs Petula is warming up to Preston. However, my other dog Pepper isn't. She bears her teeth when he gets too close so I immediately get in there and remove Preston. I try not to bust Pepper too hard so that she doesn't get even more jealous. By most accounts most dogs stop growing between 5-10 months...Would you all agree? My sisters chiuhauhau stopped growing at 6 months...but most of her growing was between 2-4 months. |

| My Lola is 2lbs 9 oz. She is almost 7 months. We are hoping she makes it to 3 lbs. I do think she may be more fragile than other bigger yorkies. She has broken her leg twice iin the same place However, she has no fear of bigger dogs and we like that she loves to play. |

| I have a 3 lb and a 7 lb who both sleep in bed with me (one on each side so I feel tucked in)! In fact they werent with me last night and I hated sleeping w/ them (even though they both equal just 10 lbs). I got sick of the crying at night so as soon as they could stay in my bed w/out accidents, I let them. And my little one took the same track as yours is. He hit about 3 lbs and just stopped growing! I was at the vet today and he is finally 3.3 lbs, but they said I need to fatten him up to be about 3.8 lbs. Ive been trying but he just wont gain weight! I have noticed that he gained the .3 lbs between ages 12 and 15 months...so yours could easily get bigger. Oh the other hand....my older one, Asia just wont STOP growing! |

| I have a little 22 week old who is 1.35kg--just over 3lbs. She doesn't seem to have grown much in the last few weeks either. She has just had a haircut,so probably weighs less now! I hope she grows a bit more too,as she is so little. She sleeps with me,curled up next to my neck and has done since 8 weeks old. She loves to play with other dogs, although i find older medium size the best mix! not too rough. She doesn't think she is small!
