| Bad reaction to vaccine? Has anyone's Yorkie experienced a bad reaction to the vaccines? I just got my little guy on Friday and was told to get his second set of vaccinations on Saturday, which I did, and he died last night as a result. I am devistated. |

| OMG I am so sorry I truly am. My Jewels had a slight reaction to the bordatello vaccine. This is the first time I have heard on here of someones dog dying from a reaction though. I am so sorry again.

| Oh my God, I am so sorry for your loss. You have got to be devastated, I know I would be. I'm always a little nervous after any vaccinations. My litter just got their 2nd shots Wednesday and no problem. What was in the vaccine? Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your baby.

| omg....I am so sorry for your loss...My Bailey didn't have any reactions, but he was due for his shot the day after we got him, we decided ( along with our vet) that we would give him a week to settle in here, with out mama before putting him through the shots....You must be so upset, any loss of a loved one , animal or human is tough to bear.

So sorry for your loss. I never had this experience but a breeder did on another forum. She was shocked, never happened to her before. Jessica

| I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I have heard that sometimes the second set will cause problems even for pups that got through the first one okay. Your pup was probably allergic to the vacine. |

| Thanks all for taking the time to respond and send your well wishes. Sounds like it isn't too common...guess we were just the unlucky ones. I wish we would have thought to wait a week before the vaccination to let him get settled into his new environment. I keep looking for the lesson we were supposed to learn and all I can come up with is that hopefully this information will reach people with new puppies and that they will learn from this sad event. Thanks again everyone. |

I know it won't lessen the emotional pain but I hope the breeder gives you your money back.

| I have never had any problems with any of my dogs getting shots. Just out of curiosity - was your pup a "tiny little thing." My Yorkie is a "big little guy." And, I really feel that this helps him tolerate a lot - that a very small little pup might be more sensitive to. I am so sorry for your loss. Not much can be worse. Carol Jean |

| So sorry for your loss. Have you been given any further information as to why this happened? I've never heard of one dying, but I did here of one contracting parvo right after a vaccination was given. |

| I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss - you must be heartbroken. Neither Rowdy nor Rex have had any problems - Rex is due for his 3rd set next weekend - I will be nervous, I always am. I would definitely talk with the vet to see if he/she has any ideas what might have happened. Please know that it is not common and that you did nothing wrong. If you had not gotten the shots, your baby might have contracted parvo and died - it just happened, there's nothing you could have done. <<<<< HUGS >>>>>>
