| Help Me Choose A Puppy! okay i wasn't sure where to put this post so i guess here was a good place, also it's sort of an emergency & this is the busiest thready thing, i hope you don't mind. Anyway i have two female adorable yorkshire terriers to choose from that both have the same father yet different mothers. They're from the same breeder, they're pure breed & i know she's a good breeder. I will be buying one in 5 days. The one that i want will be 8 weeks when i buy her, the other 6 weeks or so. But i'm worried, the one that i want is the 8 week old because she has a more beautiful face, yet she's tiny and i mean tiny! She's smaller than the 6 week old one. I do not know what the personality is like for the 6 week old one but the 8 week old one is sweet and friendly, she even nibbled on my fingers and is quite active for a 7 week old. the younger one will grow up to be a normal size but the older one will be smaller but only by a few centimeters i guess. my mum is worried that the smaller ones have more health problems such as heart conditions but i've been looking everywhere to see if she's right but it just says in books you should feed them well etc which is what i've been planning. Will the larger one live longer because she's bigger? I know that they can be crushed easily but i don't see how a few centimeters could stop that from happening (i will be taking great care of her by the way, we don't live with little kids) please help me out! i really love the personality of the small one! Tips will be greatly appreciated! Sophia |

| If you love the small one get her !!!!! I didn't think Haley was going to be as tiny as she is 4lbs,, 7 months old, she is adorable and she holds her out to my 7lb Yorkie Harley she don't take any crap from him, as for health wise, i did have her to the vets a couple of times, for throwing up and i did have to change her dog food to all natural foods.... But that is just the chance you take with pure breeds, but i love them both to death.. there my babies, if you like the smaller one better then go for it...... you just have to be more carefull walking around your house, she will always be at your feet.... |

| Can you wait another two weeks? Do you have to get one this next week? It would give you some more time to observe them and 8 weeks is really young for a Yorkie baby especially a little one. Trust me on that - I got my girl at 8 weeks and I wouldn't do that again. She was way to little and fragile. Don't mean to squelch your excitement but just want you to have the best experience. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would go for the little one that you like the face and personality. It would be great if the Breeder would keep her a few weeks longer. I got Cali at 9 weeks and she had a couple of health issues. Good luck either one sounds like it will be a wonderful addition to your family.

| In this case I would advise you to consider the breeder more than the puppies. Are all of the puppies placed at 8 weeks? That as we say all the time is too young to take from mum and littermates. So, unless the breeder is willing to keep your choice til it is 12 weeks old, I would not take either one. JMHO If she will keep them then go with the one you want most. Yes, tinies can have more health problems that their larger counterparts so be prepared for that if it happens.. |

| i can't really take her in two more weeks because i'm buying her for the holidays & i won't have another chance to buy a puppy in ages enless i'm at school and it's not a good time to buy because of camp, & sh'll grow closer to my mum etc, it's better to buy her now so it's quiet for her. "Yes, tinies can have more health problems that their larger counterparts so be prepared for that if it happens.." when you say that what kind of problems? And does a few centimeteres really help make the larger ones stronger? THANKYOU for the help so far |

| I would be concerned about taking a little one at 8 weeks old. I know I won't release my babies until at least 10 weeks and at least 12 weeks for the tinies. Just check her guarantee and pick one that you bond with more. Breeders who try to breed for tinies.... is not a good idea. All my girls are over 4.5 lbs for breeding but I do have a fantastic tiny 2.5 lb stud. He is the most active and holds his very own against the others. He makes my heart skip a beat everytime he jumps off something! Good Luck and we can't wait to see pics! |

| I had Aggie when she's 8 weeks and she's the runt of the litter. She was about 2.4 lbs. She's 5 months now and we haven't run into any health complications (knock on wood). We lucked out. I say go with the one you like. But yes, be very careful and watchful of your little one. |

I just hope she live a healthy life because of her size Sophia Hi Sophia, I love the name Honeybee, what ever you name her I know she will love it. Our Cassie was only three and half pounds and she lived to be ten and half and was so healthy all through the years, we never thought of her as ageing cause she was so active and playful . In my opinoin just because they are quite small doesn't mean they will have health problems. We never know with any what is going to take place we just love em each and every day and be thankful for having the joy of being chosen to live their life with us. Sure look forward to seeing pictures of her. I know how excited you are. Patti |
