| Copper, my chocolate yorkie and his little sister I haven't posted or visited in a long time. Things have been so hectic. I lost my mother and father last year, and other major things, surgery, child going through a divorce, etc, etc, etc. Just thought I would say hi and post a couple of more recent photos of my ragamuffins. They have really kept me hoppin'. I recently had Copper's hair trimmed. I didn't like it at first, but here in FL, it is probably better for the summer to have them trimmed shorter. I will probably have Daisy trimmed in a couple of weeks. Do any of you have pictures of cute little yorkie cuts? I would like to take a picture in when I go. I have missed browsing this site. Maybe this summer I will have a little more time when I am off work. We are redoing our kitchen, and I am currently without a stove, sink....well, a whole kitchen....we are doing a lot of eating out! Well, here is the link to my photo gallery. http://www.yorkietalk.com/gallery/sh...o=8273&cat=648

There are a couple more chocolates on this site. It is caused by a double recessive gene passed down from the parents. You don't see many of them because they are not "breed standard". Copper's litter had 2 chocolates and 2 normal colored ones. I think that most serious breeders do away with the chocolates at birth. However, I think they are very pretty. Copper is a very sweet dog with a wonderful temperment! I wouldn't trade him for the world!!!!! My little one is a ball of fire!!! She gives Copper a run for his money! He is happy for me to hold her occasoinally so he can get some rest! Ha, ha. She is really sweet, too, but very much still a puppy at 7 months. Copper is just over a year old. Thanks for your reply.

Yes, the brown nose and also, the hair is brown instead of black. The lighter shade around the mouth and head is more blonde than gold or silver. His hair is changing more and more to blonde. His back is getting more and more blonde mixed with the brown. I think he will eventually turn mostly blonde. I had never seen a chocolate before Copper, either. But he is quite pretty, I think. His hair is thinner than my Daisy's, but very silky and easy to care for. He is really pretty long, but I have had him trimmed up a bit for the summer weather to come.

| Thanks. I love him, too. He is so sweet!!!! I just hope Daisy calms down a little bit. She is such a bundle of energy. Poor Copper can't seem to get a minute's rest unless I am holding her or put her in her crate. But they play well together most of the time. He just gets a little tired of her at times and wants to rest. I love them both!!! Yorkies rule, no matter what the color!!!!
