| Do baby yorkies get sore like kids after vaccinations? My little Sebastian went to the vet today and had shots. He's acting pitiful. I would almost swear he had tears in his eyes. When I pet him, especially his back left hip, he looks back at his leg really quick like it hurts him. A friend of mine took him for me because I was at work and I am assuming the vet gave his shots in the left leg. He's not bearing weight on that leg either. He won't play, just curls up in his little bed and whines. (I worried at first that my 3 year old may have stepped on him or something while I was in the other room) When I picked him up to love on him, he turned his head from me and acted mad at me! He also kept squirming to get down, which he has never done. He usually loves to be held. I wonder if I'm reading too much into his actions. It amazes me when an animal displays such personality and feelings. Does anyone have any reassurance for me that it's only the vaccinations that is making him act like this... Have other people's dogs done similar things after shots? |

| Jewels would be very sore and would want to be left alone after getting shots. One time she also had a reaction to her shots.

| My Simon gets very dramatic after getting a shot. But he usually returns to normal after a few hours. Keep an eye on him, is he drinking and eating like normal? |

| Georgie gets sore and tired after getting his shots. One thing I will recommend is that you never let them give him more than 1 shot per visit. They are so little and can't take too much. If he is still acting like this tomorrow I would call the vet. Hope Sebastian feels better soon

| When my baby got her shots, I rubbed her injection site in circular motions and it helps the medicine to not form a knot like they do sometimes. But, you have to do this as soon as he/she gets the shot. If you wait too long it will get sore and will only make him/her cry. If your baby is sore try this and see if it helps. I take a damp washcloth and heat it in the microwave to get it really warm (not too hot) and hold it on the injection site. When the washcloth cools off do it again for several times and it will help take the soreness out. Hopes this helps and tomorrow everything should be much better. Judy |

| Illy acts like nothing happened. She is just as happy and playful after the shots as she was before. She doesn't even yelp when they give her the shot. She's a tough little pup.
